In my IT 142 Presentation Technology & Techniques class, I learned various functions for the PowerPoint program. The skills that I learned were how to insert an audio, create custom backgrounds, and how to add/edit animations. These functions helped me accomplish my project since I had to add a custom background and add multiple animations. Working in a group can have many benefits and challenges. The major benefit is the tasks for the assignment are delegated. Each person in the group takes part of the assignment which makes it easier on the workload. Being in a group also has it challenges such as part of the task does not get completed, lack of communication, or dealing with different personalities. I liked the group I was in, we all knew
This plays a part in your classroom also. When the teacher says to work in a group then everyone needs to play a part in getting the work done instead of one person doing it. Also when you use team work you have a better chance of getting your assignments right the first time. This is also where communication plays a part in teamwork. You have to be able to communicate with your group and express your opinions and ideas effectively.
In my many years in working for the state of Georgia, I have worked in several groups, but the one that stands out the planning committee that I was serving on with my co-worker. We were trying to organize a non-profit organization called It takes a Village. We had a rough start but we worked to together and everyone understood the main goal and we all got assigned certain duties and once we complete the assigned task we, always assisted the other team members so that we get the job done.
I never have been great in group project because coordinating everything we all have to do is difficult. Simply finding a meeting time that everyone can attend is difficult and finding time for everyone to sit down and work can be a challenge. Everyone’s schedule is different, and each person has other responsibilities, so adding another task can be a problem. One person may have an exam due on that day, another person may have to work, and someone else may just have to take care of family business. My group name is Smooth Criminal, and the members of my group are Christ Basttista, Meagan Martinez, Karissa Helmberger, and Noah Adams. I met with my group two times, but it was very handsome. We were there all of us and supporting each other on what we were doing, and we were very happy to work as a team group.
Collaboration is a process that can go slow if the group does not work together and process that can work fast. After doing so much group project in high school it was a great experience working with some people but not everyone. However, I loved collaboration because it helped bring people ideas together. I would sometimes forget certain aspects and a group member would well bring the part for me. I guess it all depends on what kind of group you get
Presentation skills are the skills you need in delivering effective and engaging presentations to a variety of audiences. These skills cover a variety of areas such as the structure of your presentation, the design of your slides, the tone of your voice and the body language you convey.
Working in groups isn't the easiest thing to do. A lot of the time there's conflicts of interest on the future of the group, but working in groups also teaches you basic life skills like patience, cooperative and learning how to compromise. Back in high school, I was the President of the Student Against Destructive Descisions group. On a bi-weekly schedule, we would have meetings. Prior to these meetings, myself and others in the leadership position would discuss topics of these meetings. There were many disagreements, but for the most part, it was a friendly environment. It was enjoyable when things went right. It was challenging to get everyone on the same page. Some people were just in the club for credit and didn't care to make an effort
Also, the best thing I’ve learned about being in a group and as a member of one is that the teamwork. The people that are out there doing something that you love, gets shared and they didn’t judge you. Being in the group, it’s like a family and everyone bonded throughout the process of the group. They would be there to help out no matter what and that’s an eye-opening to
Students may be more enthusiastic about studying a subject if they are preparing a power point presentation.
When working with a group of people who are trying to achieve the same goals it is very important that the group becomes a team. Working in a team can be much faster and easier for all the team members to complete their task without being too stressed out about doing it all by themselves. However if the group is too large for example more than six people it may be much harder to get your point across and to reach a compromise. Furthermore certain members of the group may lack motivation and not do much work, thus leaving it for the other members to do; therefore the team work wouldn’t be equally distributed. On the other hand working with people from different backgrounds can make the end goal
The way in which presentations are developed is important; presentations can be slideshows, practical demonstrations, training etc. When developing presentations, you need to ensure that you prepare; define the purpose and the objective that you want to get across to the audience so you know what you are aiming for and the research that needs to be undertaken prior to the presentation to ensure that this is achieved. Knowing what media, format and content is the most appropriate and would be the most effective is important as it can help in the process of planning and also the audience that you need to base your presentation around as some presentation types may be more beneficial to them than others. Before the presentation is to take
Being familiar with the basics of PowerPoint helped a lot during the creation of the instructional video. This year, my fourth-grade class enjoyed a science unit on force and motion. They spent the entire unit working with hands-on models and experimenting. This required me to have instructions readily available for the students. The instructions were typed using Microsoft word. I also used my camera to take pictures of the steps for students who had trouble with written directions. To create the
From the classroom to the boardroom and everything in between, PowerPoint has become synonymous with presentations. Instructors use PowerPoint to simplify complicated or lengthy text. The military makes use of the visual presentation tool as well, most notably, in regards to the Boston Marathon bombings of 2013. Sgt. 1st Class, James Lally, a Massachusetts Guards spokesmen, says in an email, “I counted 127 (presentations) in the operations folder so it safe to say more than 127.” Those slides consisted of a lot of bullets, detailed reports, illustrations and photographs that led to the orchestration of a city lock down, detainment of suspects and eventual return to order for Boston. Today in the business world, success depends on presentation skills; from internal presentations to external presentations, PowerPoint can be utilized in many facets of business. Professionals from all fields and departments need to know how to present effectively and can use PowerPoint the tool to aid in that efficiency.
The three features in Microsoft PowerPoint I decided upon are Slide Layout, Slide Library, and Print a Presentation. Each provide you with help on how to layout your presentation, capability of using slides from previous presentations and how you can print out the whole presentation or just certain pages.
Image editing and preparing card can easily be done using Photoshop application. A business organization can hold seminars using the power point and present it to its audience. Accounts can be well done using Microsoft Excel to prepare ledgers, balance sheet and also trial balance that are used in accounting.
The main purpose of MS PowerPoint is to enable the user to create dynamic, informational slide shows through the use of text, graphics, and animation. Slide shows created with the software are often displayed on projection screens for business, training, or educational presentations, the slides can be arranged and printed as handouts for reference. With Microsoft PowerPoint, you can make charts, tables, and macros, and insert images, audio, video, and other multimedia files.
