My entire life I have been naturally gifted in science, excelling in a variety of classes including biology, chemistry, and physics. As a senior, I took Advanced Placement Environmental Science and earned an A. That class sparked my adoration for environmental science and greatly influenced my choice of majors for college. Early on in my undergraduate career, I had the opportunity to be a part of a research lab to study the effect of wastewater injection from hydraulic fracturing on seismic rates in Marietta, Ohio, which only reinforced and solidified my intense interest in research as a career. As a result of my work in this lab, I have presented my results multiple times and have a paper in the process of being published. I have also had

This is a reflective essay based on a event which took place in a hospital setting. The aim of this essay is to explore how members of the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) worked together and communicate with each other to achieve the best patients outcome.
As I grew older, my love for the sciences grew. Since I enjoyed science, I took as many science courses in high school as possible to find the right concentration for me. Through the classes, I discovered that I enjoy biology and chemistry the best because I love learning about the principles of life. It is always exciting to learn about the ways of nature and all the complex processes in organisms that work together in harmony to create that single organism. Furthermore, the complex processes of life all have a chemistry background.
I have also operated as part of a team, for example AUQA audits, scholarship allocations, and large IT projects. Having spent most of my career working in schools and faculties I am well versed in dealing with students, general and academic staff and central units. These include timetabling, graduation, prizes and scholarships, and student and academic administration. I have also provided support to academic staff as required, for example in invigilating assessment items (including online assessment), developing course and subject proposals, reviewing Turn It In reports for potential plagiarism, and enabling advanced Blackboard
The one idea that drew me to a liberal arts college was the ability to take a wide breadth of classes from all disciplines. I hope to receive not just facts and memorization out of my education, but applications to other subjects and even daily activities. A prominent example of this is my potential major, physics. To prepare for an eventual career in the scientific field, this semester I am pursuing research in physical oceanography. Also, I joined the physics club in order to extend my learning outside the classroom, in addition to using this club as an opportunity to seek out like-minded individuals who also share a passion for science.
Vital signs are a fundamental component of nursing care and indicate the body’s ability to maintain blood flow, regulate temperature and regulate oxygenate the body tissue. Taking vital signs are essential in revealing any sudden changes in the body, which could potentially indicate clinical deterioration of the patient.
My enthusiasm for hydrology began when I worked with a hydrologist as a student in the NASA Girls summer program. STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Every Thursday for five weeks my mentor, Miss Aimee Teaby, and I would do something related to STEM. For example, the one week we would performed a science activity such as extracting DNA from spinach, and the next week we would do something related to technology, and so on. During these meetings, Miss Aimee and I would discuss what her job was as a hydrologist. She told me about how she was working at Yellowstone and the geysers. During one experiment, she explained to me that when ocean water changes PH, she saw that the ecosystem changed because fish died and animals and people can not eat them. This got me interested in hydrology, and over the weeks I asked her a plethora of questions about what her profession was about. I am very excited about this search because I want to learn more about what she does.
I find science and engineering to be fascinating, specifically areas of biology such as marine biology and oceanography as well as environmental science. My interest in science was sparked by a project I did in Kindergarten on Blue Whales. When I was in second grade I had to research an animal and I chose a dolphin, which immediately became my favorite animal. I wanted to continue research on dolphins and whales outside of school. Unlike most kids that age, I would find time between dance and soccer practice, even before school to make powerpoints on dolphins. The following year, as a third grader I did a biography project on Dr. Sylvia A. Earle; a botanist, marine biologist, and oceanographer. I then researched Dr. Earle further for a project
I do believe that Bethel University is a great place to learn about technology and a new a of life. Personal, I find myself using a whole new programs and devices I have never heard of before.
This essay is a reflective essay on my learning development from a young age through to my current position as a University Student. I will be relating my learning development back to two theories of human development, Vygotstsky’s socio-cultural theory and Marcia’s version of Erikson’s theory of identity development. I will identify and discuss the challenge I have faced with my identity and how this has impacted on my development.
Different theories and ways of practising exist for counsellors, with reflective practice becoming more popular amongst practitioners. Dallos, & Stedmon (2009) state that for professionals working directly with people, such as counsellors, reflective practice has quickly developed into a fundamental component of training, and the best practice for creating successful outcomes. This essay will focus on how reflective practice is critical for professional life, and how the use of reflection and theory can be used by counselling practitioners to inform their practice.
The dreaded English 102. Could this be my final English course in my career as a student? I don’t know for sure. I still need to decide what my major will be in. There is something that I know for sure, that is, needing to take this class to move on. I am not certain how my time in this class will go, but I plan to work hard to get the best grade that I can. Hence, I have decided to get this out of the way now, I look to fine-tune my writing skills, and I expect this course to help me understand my writing style.
This essay aims to critically review my strengths and weaknesses as a self-regulated learner, in relation to key skills which demonstrate my ability to use reflective practice. Also, the essay will identify and implement the learning skills required to complete the modules in Year 2 of the programme. It will produce and make use of individual learning plans that reflect how I could improve upon my interpersonal skills and implement a personal development plan. Furthermore, a demonstration of application of key skills together with learning and interpersonal skills in a variety of settings will be made. The framework this reflective essay will follow has been adapted from the work of Borton (1970) Reach, Teach and Touch;
This unit does not introduce much new material. Instead, we expect you to integrate technical and theoretical knowledge acquired from study across your degree. We refer to two frameworks that may support you in carrying out this integration:
My love for science is what led me to do research throughout my undergraduate career. These experiences have only served to enhance this passion and push me towards this dual degree. I have seen the effort that goes into getting research done and the hours of sleep lost in thought over the projects. I have also seen the labor that goes into keeping the
