It therefore involves the procedure by which researchers undertake their work and the framework within which is it conducted (Rajasekar et al., 2013; Remenyi et al., 1998). Research methodology aids research planning. If properly design it will enable a researcher to arrive at results or findings and tools that can either be used to disprove or approve such knowledge. (Nachamias et al., 1996; Saunders et al., 2003). This chapter outlines data collection procedure as well as how data is analysed for this study. These involve choice of the sampling frame, sampling techniques, how interviews were designed and conducted as well as questionnaire administration, time horizon, transcription of interviews and
There is a particular way in which all research works are carried out. It starts with an issue. It is usually in the form of having little knowledge about the particular subject, knowledge gap or it is some kind of a puzzle. The next step once the identification of the problem is made, is to go through all existing relevant studies in an organized manner to identify potential visions or gaps. The third step is to narrow down the problem to make the hypothesis. When the research is at its end, it should either approve or dismiss the hypothesis. After the third step, the researchers must design the type of research they want to do. Then they must choose a method to successfully conduct the research.
The methodology was described with the data collection method. Quantitative and qualitative questionnaire which consisted of closed questions with a choice of fixed answers and free text to enhance qualitative data were sent out in the form of mailshot, followed by telephone call to non-respondents and it was repeated for more wider sample results to gain more evidence to reduce bias (Parahoo, 2006).
This section of the paper seeks to explain the steps that were taken to gather the data, the participants and sampling that were employed, the location where the data was collected, the instruments used to gather the data, ethical considerations that were thought of and the limitations and delimitation of this research.
Research methods provide guidance on designing a study. Research design and use of theory varies per research method. Each design has specific requirements pertaining to issues such as the role of theory, data collection, and the use of variables (Jackson, 2012). Researchers conduct studies when a problem or gap in the literature pertaining to a topic is identified, or when a weakness in an existing theory is identified. The researcher then formulates a research question. The research study should be designed to answer the research
Themes identified from the literature are discussed followed by methodological approach, data collection and data analysis. Trustworthiness and rigour/reliability and validity were considered followed by ethical issues. The chapter round-up with findings and summary.
This study will require Primary data and Secondary data. Data collection will be done by designing appropriate questionnaire and conducting semi structured interview.
This chapter discusses the methods used in the study. It consists of research design, data and data source, data collection and data analysis.
This chapter discussed the methodological approach undertaken in the research. It outlined the research questions, the method employed for data collection, the sampling methods and how the data was analysed along with ethical considerations and the limitations of the
The contents of this chapter contains the research methodology of the project. As such, within this chapter the outline of the research strategy, the research method, the research approach, the data collection methods, sample selection, the form of data analysis, any ethical considerations and the research limitations are discussed.
Previous chapter describes the methodological approaches used to arrive at the aims and objectives of this study. This chapter is divided into seven parts. The first part explains the research philosophy used in this survey outlining the philosophical foundation that guided this research. The second part describes the research approach and the research strategy. The third part illustrates the instruments used in this study. The forth part describes the sampling strategy used in this section. The fifth part outlines the data collection approaches used in the research. The sixth part explains the approach used in conducting data analysis. The remaining parts explain the measures taken to ensure reliability of data collected and the ethical considerations that were taken during the study. As a whole, this chapter provides an overview into how the research was approached and executed.
For the background to the study, I aim to define the terms used in this assignment, place the study in context and review the literature to discuss the scope and focus of the investigation. I will then design a focussed research question and investigative strategy, define the timetable, state the method to be used for the collection and analysis of data and finish with a discussion of the reliability and validity of the method including ethical considerations and the
This chapter explains the procedures that the researchers considered in conducting the study. It includes primarily the research design, sources of data, instrument used, data procedure, and the treatment of data to obtain the necessary information.
This chapter discusses the background, objectives, significance of the study, scope and limitations, data gathering process and the research design and methodology.
Research methodology is a way how the research is conducted step by step and in order. There are two methods used for data collection which is the primary data and secondary data. These data can be obtained and used many ways. The data is taken and analyzed in advance to produce a result that we can use for research and future reference. This study will relate to the objective we want to achieve and finding the answer to every objective we seek. In order to successfully achieve the objectives we seek, we must know
The purpose of this chapter is to set out the approaches adopted during data collection and data analysis.
