Introduction Communication is an important factor for the functioning of the organization. In the process of maintaining and developing organizations, communication plays an important part. Organizational communication is the interactional expression. In the present-day world, it is very important for an organization to manage its internal processes efficiently. It is also essential that all the staff of various departments informed timely and by a chain of command about what they should know for the better and efficient work, which will help in the development of inner working efficiency which results in savings, and profits for the organization. A company?s reputation increases by developing its internal communication. A company?s culture perceived by the communication channel organized within the employees. Internal communication is a process in which information shared and changes managed. It also helps in motivation and quality performance of the employees and plays an important role in the competitiveness of the organization. It acts as a work connection between the employees of an organization.
Lack of communication between the employees in an organization leads to inefficiency of work. Employees working in the organization do not have contact with each other. Using communication allows the employees and offices to stay up to date with the businesses progress and what is currently happening. To use effective means of communication all employees would be in a way trained in order to understand communication and use the most effective means for it. This is done in advance to checking that communication is understood by the recipient.
Communication plays a key role in organizations as it allows organizations to be able to work effectively. Employees in an organization also benefits by communicating with other members and feeling being a part of the organization. It is not possible for an organization to operate without any communication between various levels, departments and employees.
To be an effective communicator in an organization, one needs to be o alert of both formal and informal communication. Also knowing how the organizations interact with employees through mutual adjustments, direct supervision, and standardization. The traditional model of communication is often used in corporations today. The traditional model states that information mainly travels downward, from managers and supervisors, to the regular employees.Decision making is the responsibility of the organization's manager, and since employees like to know what is happening, they usually find out information from the grapevine.
Communication is define as “Two-way process of reaching mutual understanding, in which participants not only exchange (encode-decode) information, news, ideas and feelings but also create and share meaning. In general, communication is a means of connecting people or places. In business, it is a key function of management--an organization cannot operate without communication between levels, departments and employees”
Communication is holding an important role in an organization. It facilitates people in making decision and making the decision implemented in actions. Therefore, organizational communication is seen as a process of moment-to-moment negotiations among the members of fulfilling their needs as employees and the needs of the organization. They mention that the needs of the employee are including autonomy, creativity, and sociability; while the organization has to control and coordinate their employees to meet its certain goals. In conclusion, managing communication in the organisation is important so as to perform basic functions. Managers should be effective communicators with high levels of fluency and professionalism and must be aware of the communication cycle to achieve team goals. Effective communication within the workplace like in the company’s technical office keeps the team involved in the delivery of customer focus which increases commitment to the organisation and make for a better relationship and understanding within the team. An effective communicator understands the communication process using the appropriate communication channel such as verbal, non-verbal or written communication. The correct use of the process helps to uncover barriers and determine effective preventive steps to avoid those barriers. Furthermore, within the communication cycle, it is essential to get regular feedback, which also helps evaluate and improve the communication process which in turn can be used as a basis to develop personal development plans, identify communication strength and weaknesses
Communication is the conveyance and flow of ideas from one person to another. The exchange of information takes place through letters, words, symbols and nonverbal behaviors. It involves the transmission of ideas from the sender to the receiver. Communication is effective only if the receiver fully understands the transmitted information. Many problems and failures occur in organizations due to poor communication. Objective and goals fail due to misunderstandings in the organization. Effective communication provides a chain of understanding to all participants in the organizational framework. It promotes the flow of information both vertically and horizontally.
Understanding the communication process in managerial position is very important. It guides the communicator in conveying the right message to the right recipient. The mode of communication determines the content of information channelled, and where the managers feel that the information is urgent; they will opt for the right means of communicating. According to the case study in consideration, effective communication leads to positive outcomes from the employees work. It boosts the loyalty displayed by workers towards their work positions and enhances transparency and freedom of expression.
The transmission of information between organizational members or parts of the organization is considered internal communication. Internal communication takes place across all levels of a company and employs a broad range of internal communications strategies such as vertical, horizontal, formal, and information communications (Grimsley, 2003-2017). Internal communications help establish a knowledgeable, democratic and training-oriented environment (Egan, 2015). As a result, the company has greater professionalism, empowerment and greater customer service.
Communication is an important element in everyone daily life as well on the work place, personal life, and career wise. Communicating promptly, and effectively prevent misinterpretation as well false information in which can cause negative consequences for the company as well the person responsibilities. In the work field communication is part of performing, and productively to run the company otherwise can cause problems to the company as well among the emplyeer's. For example, conflict between employeer's a person may need documentation to proceed with their part, however not letting the person know how soon and why you need the documentations may delayed the process leading to conflict between the two employers. The lines of communication are effective and result in peak productivity for the staff members and the business.
Communicating effectively is a significant concern in the majority of organisations. If communication is ineffective it can lead to numerous management issues from employee dissonance to lower productivity.
Communication is the lifeline of all business without effective communication failure is sure to occur. The organization I worked for was all about communication both verbal and non-verbal. Different business situations and different employee needs demand the use of multiple communication modes to drive the message home effectively. By the company, having an understanding of the benefits of various types of organizational communication it help our management team communicate more effectively.
Effective internal communication can improve staff performance. With the clear goal and direction are given, employee know where they are now and there will going to. However the successful internal communication is not always easy, the misleading of the wrong or ineffective information will lose time and reduce productivity. To improve the internal communication, company should create a culture of communication and set up system that measures the effectiveness of the communication. However, to conduct the successful communication is not the final goal, and the final target is rising the morale of the staff and improves their performance, which can lead to a higher productivity.
