Thankfully guys for your comments/discussion too. I have been working hard with my degree completion plan, because God always help me to understand. With this course I learned how is important to use the SDLC for every goal, “The SDLC has a similar set of four fundamental phases: planning, analysis, design, and implementation. Different projects might emphasize different parts of the SDLC or approach the SDLC phases in different ways, but all projects have elements of these four phases. Each phase is itself composed of a series of steps, which rely upon techniques that produce deliverables (specific documents and files that provide understanding about the project).” (Mckay and Marshall,
By sorting the timeline in months I can’t get a clear idea of how you will accomplish the project in this course. “The Timeline must be consistent with the milestone dates noted in the Project Objectives and is open to revision”.
According to SearchCIO (2013), “Project scope is the part of project planning that involves determining and documenting a list of specific project goals, deliverables, tasks, costs and deadlines” (para. 1). Project scope is important because it keeps everyone moving along in the process and phases of SDLC. It allows the COO to see the progress of the development of the
A project scope is a way to describe the major deliverables of a project and this includes key milestones, high level requirements, assumptions and constraints. A projects scope is a useful way to make decisions for the future of the project if changes are needed. The projects scope also defines boundaries of a given project and it clarifies what can be delivered and what is expected to be delivered ("Match ware", 2013). The scope explains the boundaries of the project and the responsibilities of every one working on that project. This helps who ever is working on the project by defining guidelines and helping them to remain focused. The projects scope is a very important part of the SDLC because this serves as a manual for how the project will be completed including important details, deliverables, tasks, costs, and deadlines.
Congratulations! You have just completed the project charter, scope statement and WBS. Now that you know what needs to be done, as the Project Manager, you are now ready to begin planning your project.
The first step will be to look at the goals of the project, and align them with the mission of the company. Systematically, the project will be broken into phases: Planning, Organizing, Staffing, Directing, Coordinating, Budgeting, Evaluating, and Reporting. Each phase will be further broken down into tasks and placed into a work breakdown structure. From this view, one is able to see the entire project duration, critical path, and milestones. The Planning phase is integral in any project. This phase of the project defines project objectives, mission, goals, and approach. In addition, outlining key elements of the project is critical: performance expectations, risks analysis, and contingency plans. However, after completion
By properly having a filled deliverable definition table the project manager can ensure that this approach will help formalize the validation of key program benefits, by ensuring that these deliverables are included in the project scope. The relationship between the deliverables and the scope will be easier to communicate to upper management and stakeholders. The
| The process for the development plan was firstly to research and gain as much information on the courses to make sure they are current and meet my needs and personal Goals. Once this was satisfied i need to look at when and how i was going to complete the courses, a time line and getting the internet installed at my home address was done. Also an interview with the funds/account manager to release the funds to pay for the personal development courses. I had to justify why i wanted to do this course and what benefit to the organisation this would create. I also had to show the course was current and provided the right qualifications. The impact on organisational objectives was positive. Personal improvement on understanding management and leadership will enhance my coaching of junior and senior instructors in leadership and my ITQ skills have already improved to make work more efficient when using IT equipment like power point etc.Reviewing what i have completed is positive and my personal plan is constantly being updated as more of the courses are completed. Both goals are on
In terms of goals it is very important to set short term and long term goals. I have set my short term goals as one class at a time, just get a great grade in this class whatever
As an educator the decisions that are made should be with the students’ best interest in mind. Standard 5 has given me more knowledge and ability to promote the success of all students by acting with integrity, fairness, and in an ethical manner. Modeling school principles of self-awareness, safeguarding the values of equity, and diversity, and promoting social justice within the schools are all elements of standard 5.
Describe the integrative functions and activities within the information systems area, including the role of the CIO and technologies managed within the organization.
The nature and scope of a project is determined at the initiation stage. This involves analyzing the business needs, developing goals, budgets, tasks, deliverables, and the stakeholder analysis. The project planning stage determines the planning team, develops the scope, and identifies work breakdown structure and activities that will be needed to complete deliverables. The planning stage also estimates time and cost activities, develop schedule and risk plan, and gain formal approval for work to begin. The executing stage involves all processes used to meet the project requirement and involves managing people and resources. The process that entails the identification of potential problems and
From the perspective of project management, and for a project to be deemed successful, the project needs to be completed within the specified time, should stay within the allocated cost and should meet the standard and quality required. There is also recognition that things sometimes do not always work as planned. Uncertainties may occur that bring in a slippage in time or may drive up the cost of the project. These aspects notwithstanding, the final objective is always to get a deliverable that meets acceptable quality standards.
Also, the campus is very beautiful and spaced out and it is developing as there are new building being made. I believe that it is important to set goals because it is a way to be organized and know what you have to get done. Setting goals is a way to be motivated to keep achieving success. This means that
Section four with course outline presented in a table by weeks is easy for students to follow. Each week is introduced with the main topic and readings. However, it may be better if the course outline incorporates the due dates for assignments and group project milestones. Because this course combines in-class activities and service learning, the workload of students is intensive. It may be easier for students to keep on track with different deadlines.
CE1.7 In the first step, I attended multiple meetings with my supervisor and other team members to understand the project goals fully. I quickly realized that there are a lot of steps and activities that I have to do in order to complete the project in time. Therefore, I started creating a timetable for the list the tasks I was responsible for. After I put together a draft of the activities, I scheduled a meeting with my supervisor to make sure that my personal schedule and deadlines are in full compliance with
