This is Brendan Reese. I recently submitted my Candidate Activities Record, but I needed to make a change. Because I am graduating after this year, my band director wanted to select a younger section leader who would be able to lead next year as well. Although I was section leader during my sophomore and junior year, I will not be section leader this year. Thank you for your time and consideration.
This is Faith Cox and welcome to my section leader essay. As you may know, I am now a junior in the Lewisburg band program and maintain the position of second chair in the French horn section. Last year I applied as a sophomore, and I can confidently say I have not only gathered more experience over the past year, but I have also become even more passionate about band. That passion has led me to once again apply for section leader. However, this time I am much more matured as a musician, and I am eager to see my section succeed as they have in the past and help them in any way they may need.
Diversity means difference. It recognises that even though people have things in common with each other they are also different in many different ways. Diversity concludes of non-visible and visible which include staff members, culture, personality etc. Characteristics that are included and protected under the legislation are gender, disability, age, race, religion and belief and sexual preferences. As being co-ordinator in the day centre it is important to understand that each staff member is different which will help enable a comfortable and productive environment within the day centre to ensure each individual client feels valued.
I believe that I should be accepted for the position of Section Leader, because I am relatable, I make people feel welcomed and like they belong, I can be encouraging, I can have fun but when the time comes for me to be serious I can do that as well. While in the Boy Scouts I have held leadership positions so this is not something that is new to me. I know how to handle difficult situations and I feel that if given the opportunity to be section leader I can prove myself.
Police, courts and corrections are part of criminal justice organizations. Each of these organizations face challenges every day and the leaders of these agencies must deal with these challenges (Duelin, 2010). The types of criminal justice leaders range from police chiefs and sheriffs to prison superintendents, and heads of government, state, or local task forces. Some of the challenges they confront are budget and staffing shortfalls, political perspectives on the roles of law enforcement personnel in society, and the changing nature of crime and the difficulties associated with keeping up with these trends (Bryant, 2010).
Ever since the creation of the social media phenomena, I struggle with understanding and participating in this digital cyber activity. At first, I was amused with this technology because you can communicate with others faster. I use to compare social media to a digital pen pal. However, it evolved into something much greater, which can have a major impact on social change in a global society. As a result, we are now faced with finding and developing leaders who can use social media to influence change. Moreover, the author argues that there is a gap in competent leaders who can effectively lead change using social media. As leadership educators, our purpose is to prepare students to be relevant and productive members in our society. We are
I want to try to my best capability to help and further the potential of this band. Even though we are losing many great seniors this year- we can still pursue greater things. I have nearly been on leadership before and I understand the values and expectations that have already been set. I enjoy working alongside all the fellow students here in the band and can’t wait for next marching season!
George W. Carver was best known in his time as a man of faith who believes in God as science as a gift from God. He would constantly acknowledge that his work was inspired by the works of God and God’s inspiring, and guiding him in his work. When those who wanted things from Carver such as his secrets without the desire to work for the knowledge, Carvers replay would be, ‘God refuses to reveal the secrets of the humankind and the universe.
When I received the position of trumpet section leader in my school’s marching band, a wave of excitement coursed through my veins. Becoming section leader relieved my anticipation for a meaningful leadership position. Before I took over as section leader, I had an insatiable desire to spread my wealth of musical knowledge. Over time I discovered that the phrase “You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink” was true. I gave my section an almost endless array of trumpet exercises, but they did not start utilizing them until they saw how those exercises made me successful. I realized then that I lead best by example. Leading by example is how I intend to enrich the community at UW Eau Claire.
As an NCO I have held leadership positions as a squad leader to platoon sergeant. Each one presented its own challenges and rewards. As a squad leader and section sergeant I was very engaged in the day-to-day operations at work, as well as outside of work. Through a good leaders book I knew where my Solders lived, if they were married and had children, even their hobbies. Knowing these facets about my Soldiers allowed me to engage them, not only on a professional level, but on a personal level as well. This allowed me to try and get them anniversaries and birthdays off and talk to them about something they were interested in. When Soldiers see you care about more than just the professional side, they trust that you have their best interests at heart. I also served as a platoon sergeant at the company and division level. As a company platoon sergeant I knew the Soldiers in my platoon as well as the NCO’s, but the decentralized aspect of leadership starts to take effect. You have to start relinquishing those direct day-to-day

Candidate statement: I am interested in seeking a Northeast District Representative position for an IASC Executive Committee because I’d like to broaden my leadership skills outside of school activities and on a much bigger level. Becoming a district representative would be able to have a chance to use my leadership skills more and gain new ones to then take back to my council and help our school get everyone involved and make sure they get the most out of their four years in high school. Also to help people to not just look at student council as a college resume builder but as a community project and trying to help your community with in your school and outside of your school. As a student council member if you participate
A good section never fails to have a humble, hardworking attitude. They are the individuals who set standards for worth ethic. They provide clarity and have a depth of commitment. They continually pursue ways to become stronger for themselves, their sections, and the band. It is crucial that section leaders establish a solid line between the time for joking around and the time for getting work done. It's equally critical that they adapt quickly to changes in music, drill, and schedule while being calm in the process. The leader has the ability to motivate themselves and the section in spite of frustration. They do not think of themselves are righteous compared to others because of their position. They realize
Over my schooling life, I’ve held several leadership roles both in primary and secondary school. They’ve been some of the hardest tasks I’ve had, yet, I’ve found ways to overcome them and be successful. I was elected as school vice-captain and SRC secretary by my peers. I had to give up my own time in order to make the best commitment to my school but I'm very happy to just do that. I am confident and will often set my mind on a goal - and commit myself to achieving it. I believe that giving my best in academic and fulfilling my duties as school vice captain is the highlight of my high school life. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity to proudly serve and represent
Problem employees inevitably surface in most workplaces and sometimes employers need to counsel their employees and on occasions employers must discipline the employee. In an organization top-management often formulate the standards that supervisors must use when they have to deal with problem employees. A supervisor must have the skills required to organize, staff, lead, and control which includes the ability and talent required to deal with problem employees.
Working with and leading people is one of the major concepts of a person who wants to be a leader. A
