I recall learning something new, I was as green as anyone who was there before me. I started a career at Discount Tire, fresh off the press as the veterans would call it. My first days, that's all that I heard. ‘SELL THE VISIT.” I didn't understand what it meant at the time, so I went along with it. It all began with the founder of Discount Tire. Bruce Halle is his name. He had developed a simple business strategy. Provide a service, have a fair product that we could honor and sell at a fair price. Treat all customers with respect and always address them as Mr, or Mrs. Customer. We also learned that the customer is always right. Even if the customer was wrong that was his motto from day one he opened the doors. It was simple, treat customers the way you want to be
