Pinterest, launched in March 2010 and founded by Paul Sierra, Evan Sharp, and Ben Silbermann, constituted its success in being a search engine designed to discover information on the internet, mainly utilizing images and on a shorter scale, GIFs and videos (“Pinterest, 2017). After finding this information, users can then formulate ideas through pinning these images, GIFs, and videos to designated pin boards. The pin boards can be organized by categories and subcategories. These boards can be shared with individuals you follow, so they can pin ideas to your board as well. These boards can also be shared with other members, so they can view your boards, but cannot post on them. Several of these boards include ideas for recipes, events, …show more content…

Another feature snap has is it includes the availability of different news outlets one can see, which gives snapchat a means of communication but a means of receiving news as well, which is a crucial factor on why it will be significant in years to come and has laid a groundwork in transparency with news and communication. Vine was founded in June 2012 by Dom Hofmann, Rus Yusupov, and Colin Kroll. Vine was the platform for small scale video share of 6 seconds (“Vine,” 2017). This outlet challenged the field of creativity for its users being videos had to get a point across in 6 seconds. Users could then share other people’s vines to their profile and like them to keep the videos saved. Users can comment and instant message others about these vines made. According to adweek.com, Twitter had bought Vine in October 2012 for 30 million dollars. Twitter had then shut down vine four years later because the application was not able to keep up with the competition of Instagram and Snapchat (Heine, 2016). Videos created from vine are everywhere; these vines are shared on different media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube. Though it will not be important in 100 years due to its shutting down, this application laid the groundwork for a new means
Well, first of all it is mobile-based and it is a lot simpler to use than you’d expect. Snapchat also lets you share with any other users instantly; you don’t have to worry about that funny face you made will come across your crush (unless you accidently sent it to them! Yikes!). “Snapchat’s true brilliance is in its creative capabilities” says a blogger. Snapchat has a text overlay and draw feature which teenagers absolutely love. You can get real artsy! Another popular reason is that the camera doesn’t flip your face. Snapchat also has awesome filters and geo filters! For those that don’t know what geo filters are – they are filters that are unique to a certain location, for example a university could have its own geo filter (even McDonalds has its own!). Last but not least, rather Snapchat’s most famous feature: the face distortions. Snapchat has built-in face recognition, which allows you to apply “filter” to your face. Some example distortions are the dog face, the mustache face, and the flower crown. Protip: if you put in your birthday in your Snapchat profile, you actually get birthday
Social media is used to share and receive information during interactions with others through the uses of the internet. Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, and Instagram are some of the most commonly used social networking sites that people interact with. Twitter users post their thoughts, ideas and dreams for the world to see, opening the door for others to comment and interpret. Snapchat does not even require the user to communicating using the written word, but rather encourages communication through visual stimuli.
Thesis Statement Social media comes in all different forms and Pinterest is just one of them that allows users to get online and then get of and work on something they like or have a better idea of something they are already doing which is not like any other form of social media in itself. What is Pinterest? Pinterest is a social media site that “allows its users to not only bookmark images, but also create personal boards to hold images that fit into one category together as per the user’s preferences. For example, many users on Pinterest have “Pin Boards” that they place various recipes that other users have “pinned” and then share those pins on their boards with their friends”(Wise & Shorter, 2014). Pinterest’s mission is to inspire people
Pinterest is the fourth most popular social network in the United States. For those who have no idea on Pinterest, it is a free Web site to create virtual scrapbooks. In order to use the Pinterest it is mandatory for users to register, you can also register via Facebook, Twitter, or e-mail. What makes it different from others is, it is a catalog of ideas which includes categories like food, fashion, crafts, images and videos, DIY etc. Users can “Pin” their favorite videos and images to the pin board created by them to save their collection. I have learned about it in the year 2013. It is a great place to collect information about your favorite topics. I am interested in crafts, so I have created many boards to pin those.
Educators must understand and respect the legal rights of students and their parents, which are protected by the U.S. Constitution/Fourteenth Amendment. The Individuals with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 protect students who have been identified with disabilities. According to both IDEA and Section 504, all special education students must be educated in the least restrictive environment. The two provisions also mandate that that all children with disabilities receive a free and appropriate public education, which is referred to as FAPE. This essay will answer the question, "what is FAPE and why is it so important in the education of all children, especially students with disabilities?"
Sharing on Pinterest means creating boards that will be of interest to others. If you're purely promotional all the time, people will stop following your boards. There are group boards you can join if you are sharing interesting knowledge in your niche.

SnapChat is a photo messaging application (App) developed by Evan Spiegel and Robert Murphy. Both of the founders were Stanford students. The application was initially developed for a project at Stanford. This app allows the user to share photos, videos, add text/drawings, and send them to a controlled list of recipients. Users have the benefit of setting a time limit for how long the recipient can view their snaps (Ranging from 1 - 10 seconds), after which the photos/videos will be hidden from the recipient’s device and deleted from SnapChat’s servers. The smalltime college project developed into a huge social media success due to its innovative feature (Magid, 2013).
The main purpose for a lot of people is to express their creativity, and for self expression. The SnapChat filters caters to a group that likes to express their comedy among their peers like the app it is their own stage. The use of this app allows a teen to show their responsibility. This app can be used for more than self expression, it can be used for behind the scenes information, talking to your friends, and access to the news that the youth may actually be appealed to read.

Vine appears to be a user friendly social media site that has the capability to make a short video that consumers can share on their phone. The thought of sharing videos will definitely bring a variety of consumers together. The first thing that I thought about when I heard that with this site you can make a video is parents will be able to send videos to the grandparents to keep them involved in the lives of the grand kids. Each day social media grows in hopes that more people will join the online networks that are so popular (Tuten, Solomon, 2013). I have heard of Vine but never took the time to download the application. I was not aware that it was no longer available social sites come and go frequently it is hard to keep up with
