This skill is developed by many aspects of my personal life for example listening to teachers and they’re criticisms and understanding what to do to achieve this and example of this is getting a bad grade on your assignment and learning how to get a better, higher grade in the next assignment by following and actively listening to the teacher’s instructions. Being a good listener is important for social work so you could understand the client’s needs and solve how to tackle their problem by setting them up a useful treatment plan. Another skill that is also important for a social worker is having good organizational skills, and I believe that this skill is needed because you need to organize all your documents and files effectively and without it important files could be missing which would be crucial for the client this could also take time to find and put the social worker into stress. I can relate to this as organizing my school work helped me with my revision as it became easier for me to study, if nothing was organized, then It would take more time for me to find work that are in different places and important time would have been spent rapidly. Patience is also a key skill as you will have to be dealing with clients from all different backgrounds, race etc. this means you have to be patient as some of their problems could be more difficult or take more time to solve.
