The best thing I see myself doing during the introduction is catching their attention with the topic. I saw myself move around more than I did in previous speeches, even though it was minimal. My voice was the least shaky throughout the introduction as it was my most memorized part of my speech. I believe overall, this speech was among one of my best speeches given during the duration of the course. I believe I gave my audience great life examples during my speech to help them not repeat the same mistakes I made.

I believe in terms of delivery I did alright in the informative and special occasion speech. I took a tumble in delivery with the persuasive speech by not preparing well enough. In terms of delivery, I feel I greatly became more confident as the semester went on excluding the persuasive speech. The special occasion speech I began to move around a little while delivering the speech. I believe I actually had forgotten about my lisp when delivering and preparing to deliver speeches as the semester went on which is awesome. I see myself fidgeting less as the semester speeches went on as well.

Improvements can help any person no matter their experience with public speaking. I need to practice timing my animations with my PowerPoint. In terms of improvements, I need to be able to introduce a brief history of the
I have learned to project my voice better, while maintaining a firm position. These things have help me focus more on giving the speech than worrying about myself. I still need to work on calming myself down during my speech. I will be able to do this by collecting my thoughts beforehand and remind myself that I know my topic. I am giving the speech to let people know what I know about my topic.
Throughout my speech, the most important objective that I considered was my tone and rate of pace of me voice. I think that if I would have had a speech that was extremely cheerful and fast paced that that would have been completely inappropriate due to the given circumstances. I think that by using a compassionate and endearing tone, my speech was extremely relatable and understandable to the audience.
Also, there were some difficulties that came about during my speech, one of those difficulties being inadequate direct eye contact. During the length of the speech there were not many time where I looked up and talked directly to my classmates. Something I could have done better to improve this would be to practice even more to ensure that I wouldn’t need to look at my notecards and slides as often. I also could have practiced when to look up and have a successful glance at my audience to have improved eye contact.
Having the elements of a clear tone, captivating, educational, or motivating speech, and the proper body language gives the impression of bonding with the speaker and the audience. Compassion and consideration is important when delivering the speech to the audience. This provides the audience with the sense that the speaker understands exactly what he or she is speaking about and possibly feel the exact way about the speech being delivered.
audience wouldn’t be paying much attention to my speech and would be thinking about going home. I would try and have a really good
As a whole, I believe I met a few of the goals that I set for myself in the speech 2 self-analysis. In this speech, I did feel as though I came better prepared to talk about my topic in comparison to how I felt for speeches 1 and 2. In regards to practicing my speech, I can say I put aside at least half a day to review and work out the kinks. This helped me
My informative speech was strong in its organization, clarity, and the support and explanation of my ideas. The organization of my speech was great the whole way through. It started with my introduction, which included all the parts needed with an attention getter, it revealed the topic, established credibility, and previewed the body. The best part of my introduction I felt was my attention getter as it related to the audience and had shock value. Following my well-organized introduction, I started my body paragraph, which contained my three main points.
This really helped me to find my confidence and taught me how to get rid of the nerves that comes with public speaking. There is always room to improve and through the speech classes I took throughout high school I feel like I improved in my speaking skills. One of my strengths is being good at preparation. Preparation is a very important factor in making a good speech. Knowing your audience, your topic, and knowing how to organize a speech properly is something I find to be a strength. Another strength of mine that I previously stated is knowing how to get through any nerves that I have. My weaknesses of public speaking include my newly developed stutter, talking too fast, and not speaking super clearly. With speeches I am much better at putting the speech together rather than actually giving
I had told them why I was a creditable source and what my proposition was to subject. I believe my introduction for the speech was catchy and unique. I then told the audience what I was going to talk about, which was about what happens to a smokers’ body, secondhand smoke, and what the benefits are to stopping smoking. For my self, I noticed my improvement over my speeches through time. I see that I have done much better about staying in one place instead of crossing my legs over each other, like I am trying to trip myself.
What were the strengths and weaknesses of the introduction? How did you gain the audience’s attention?
In relation to my preparation for the presentation, I practiced multiple times on my own as well as in front of my peers in order to be familiar with my content and be able to present confidently without stuttering. As a result, I felt
Since my first speech, I have improved my speaking skills by creating better introductions in my speech, getting my script done earlier and being more confident during the speech. I've learned that one of the keys to grab audience's attention and to get a good reaction is an interested introduction. Also, I recognize that if my final draft done earlier before the presentation day, my script would be better with more time to complete my revision. However, for my first speech, I didn't practice and memorize enough and my performance indicated that. But with every speech after that, my practice got better and it make my speech flow smoothly.
During speech class this semester, I gave several different types of speeches on several different topics. During this semester, my ability to give speeches in front of an audience has improved quite a bit, I hope. Going into the semester, I had a really hard time giving speeches to people, but now that speech is almost over I feel like I am more capable of doing so. I think the thing I did best during the semester was getting good information for each of my speeches. My favorite assignment was most likely the impromptu speech. I really liked that one because we did not have to prepare an outline or anything like that, we just got to go up there and speak. During this semester, I learned a lot about how to give speeches such as the proper way to stand so I do not rock, or how to use my hands to emphasize my points. In the future, I think that I will be able to control my speed better during my speeches which will help the people I am presenting to understand my message. I think the skills I have acquired during speech will help me for the rest of my life. No matter what career I choose, I am sure that at some point I will have to present to someone about something. The skills I learned in speech will also help me just communicate with people in a one on one situation easier than I do now. I can use these skills throughout the rest of high school and through my six years of college still to come because whenever I have to present a project I will know how to effectively communicate my message to my audience.
First off, there were many strengths that I believed were demonstrated within my Values Speech such as pacing and eye contact with my fellow classmates, but despite the strengths that were seen, the weaknesses of stuttering and finishing sentences abruptly created a weak feeling at the end of my presentation. As I watched the recording of my presentation on repeat, I noticed that my pacing was very well executed. I didn’t speak too fast nor did I speak too slow, which is good because my classmates were able to follow along with what I was saying. Not only that, but I also provided eye contact to my classmates, showing that I was well prepared and did not need to read my note cards as much. Of course, with strengths, there were also weaknesses portrayed. I often stuttered at a couple of phrases because of my anxiety and I would also finish some of my sentences abruptly, leaving a poor execution. I realized that once I began saying a certain sentence and mess up mid-way through, I would end the sentence with words that wouldn’t be as clear. Now knowing my weaknesses and strengths, I will better prepare myself for my next upcoming speech by practicing my speeches with more word choices when I say it verbally, allowing myself to become more aware of the variety of
