My current GPA does not reflect my academic history. During my freshman year, I didn't take full responsibility to study for exams. I also lacked the maturity to understand how important school was not only to provide me with a good job but with knowledge. I learn at the end of the IBB summer program that having the power of knowledge is more valuable than gold. This year I'm taking full responsibility to study for my exams and the SAT. Furthermore, I made a list of goals to accomplish and keep me motivated to be a better student.
GPPA program provides me a guarantee admission for my future education in Nursing. As a GPPA member, I will keep my GPA above average during college years, and do my best to make a steady progress academically. Nurse anesthetist is my dream career, I would like to take the risks and complete any recommended courses to pursue my goals. becoming a member of GPPA program will offer me a considerable opportunity to complete my Bachelor's degree in Nursing and helps me achieve my goal with higher level educational content.
I feel that my GPA is not indicative of my current academic strength. During the first two years at the University of Illinois, I struggled to adapt to a new education system and a different cultural environment. However, in the following years, I excelled within the classroom. Despite originally declaring myself as a General Management major, I pushed myself to take more data driven electives. As a result, I was able to graduate with an additional Business Process Management major.
While in high school my GPA was below a 2.0 and that was because I was involved in many sports that I had a strong passion for. I was very driven and dedicated, that most of my free time went into trying to be the best on the softball field and on the wrestling mat in hopes of receiving a scholarship. As an athlete you only needed a 2.0 GPA to compete and at that time I did not focus too much on exceeding that standard.
Academically I would like to maintain or even improve my GPA by hopefully getting a B or high in this class. I would like to get as many scholarships as I possible can by the end of the year. My main academic goal for this class would be to turn in all of my homework with the best effort for each assignment.
I am appealing the admission decision on my transfer application because I feel that my GPA from my previous university, Georgia Institute of Technology, does not accurately reflect my potential at Florida State. There were extraneous circumstances that affected my GPA at Georgia Tech, and I feel my test scores and high school performance show a more accurate representation of my performance as a student.
Ending my freshman year with a cumulative GPA of 3.875 and maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.895 so far my sophomore year, I have not only proven to my teachers, but also to myself that regardless of how hard the subject may be, I am always willing to do what it takes. I can’t say that all my classes are easy, because they are not. I make sure I stay after school and ask my teachers for extra help. As a sophomore, we have tests that we are encouraged to pass at the end of the year such as PARCC for English 10, Algebra II, Government HSA, and the AP Government exam. I consistently ask for all the help I need until the day of my tests and even practice/study on my own.
Some students are able to show their true talent and intelligence just through their high school transcripts. These students that have worked hard: achieved their 4.0 GPA, graduated with honors, and are on their way to a college of their choosing. I myself, have achieved a less than stellar GPA. Always ending the semester with a B or C has put me into a predicament when applying to colleges; not knowing if you’re going to get in or not makes for a mess of anxiety. Myself having an average GPA but being able to score in the 77th percentile on the SAT shows that I have the ability to do more than what my report card says about my intellectual ability. Knowing that my GPA is still very important when applying to colleges I have redone classes
I do not feel as if my GPA accurately explains my work ethic or my knowledge in general. During my sophomore
'Tis the season for college applications, and as a senior in high school this bring a lot of stress to me and I am not the only one. "Teens across the U.S. are standing by their mailboxes, waiting anxiously for the envelopes that will seal their academic fate. It's college admissions season and for many students a lot hinges on how well they performed in standardized testing"(Sheffer). As I have gone throughout my high school career I have achieved a 4.0 GPA. However, despite my hard work, my GPA will be looked at but the main focus of the decision process will be based on my ACT scores, and because I received a 25 this is very stressful to me. Although a 25 is not horrible, it will jeopardize some of the chances I would have getting into a
The last time I checked, my GPA was somewhere in the 2.0s. When examined with a blind eye to the specifics, it most likely shows people that I'm a poor student, as most people judge scholarly ability by GPA. However, I believe that this is a flawed system, as it does not accurately show the full picture. When the dozen or so colleges that I applied to looked at my GPA, they were not looking into the meaning behind the number, missing the specifics of which classes I was performing poorly in and which classes I excelled in. Since a GPA focuses on everything at once rather than highlighting a student's struggles and weaknesses, it leads them to believe that a student is performing a particular way in all of their classes, a statement that has
Thanks for all the words of support! I don't think I realized how much I grew until I updated my resume and was like "I did all this stuff?"
In order to be accepted into UW Tacoma, you need to withstand a GPA with the minimal of 3.0, but the recommended GPA to ensure acceptance is a 3.5 and above. Currently, my GPA for the first quarter of my freshman year was a 3.0 but hoping for the next quarter to replace my C's with B's in order to receive a 3.6 or higher on my semester grade. Though UW Tacoma doesn't list, a recommended class ranking, but by UW admissions counselor's recommendation of having a class ranking above the 60 percent.
The phrase “knowledge is power”, derived from Latin roots, strongly resonates with me. In order to know me, not just as a name on a piece of paper, a score on a test, or a GPA you must first understand why this phrase stands out to me. My mentality is credited to my mother. She has worked and pursued an education virtually all of her life in order to better herself and for her children’s sake. She’s my sense of inspiration and the reason I push for excellence. One of the many motherly lectures was on education and the value in it; for this reason she has shown me the benefit and unlimited possibilities with an education. While I do agree that grades are an important factor I don’t, however, believe that that solely shows who a person is or the
I will bring my outgoing nature , energy , enthusiasm and diverse assets to the Grand Valley State University. My outgoing nature will bring me closer with the staff and students of GVSU. I will grow to love GVSU as it is my second home. Being apart of many activities and clubs that will help me attach and become comfortable. The energy I have is "Even if you don't know have fun trying it" , I put my energy and effort into everything. That certain type of energy and effort will make me into a great GVSU alumni. The school atmosphere will make me grow and help me to become a beautiful lady and intelligent student I will be honored and pleased to be apart of the GVSU family and class of
While it is my lowest grade, it is the biggest win in my book because I could have easily taken a regular history class and gotten an A, but I valued knowledge over my GPA. When people look at my transcript, they see that I maximized my opportunities to take AP classes throughout my time in high school. At my school in particular, senior tend to take easy course loads their senior year so they don't have to put in at lot of work, however I decided to take Statistics, AP Literature, Philosophy, and Spanish to continue to grow academically. If I had the chance to do high school over again, I don't think I would change anything. From all of my mistakes and achievements, I have continued to grow as a person, and I doubt that I would be the same person I am today if I made different decisions based around
