This particular case gives phenomenal examples of TQM, a term that is synonymous with continuous quality improvement (CQI), in a health services organization. TQM shows long-term application of CQI with assistance of the corporate hierarchy (McLaughlin, Johnson & Sollecito, 2012). This began the brainstorming process of defining more competitive and redesigning the capabilities of CQI to drive that process (McLaughlin, Johnson & Sollecito, 2012). The competition for patients has been intense with Baptist Hospital, and Sacred Heart Hospital all in the general Pensacola area. The majority of the patients admitted were state BlueCross Blue Shield, Champus(Tricare) for military dependents and Medicare patients Sacred Heart Hospital.
