2 “I Knew You Were Trouble”, was first recorded by Taylor Swift for her 2012 “Red” album. A year later, Jessie J visited the BBC Live Lounge, where well-known artists cover songs by other well-known artists. Jessie J performed Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble” in a personalized acoustic style. The lyrics of “I Knew You Were Trouble” tell the story of a failed relationship with someone you knew was bad news to begin with. You gave them a chance anyways, and now looking back, you realize how foolish you are. It is speculated that Taylor wrote this song about Harry Styles. 3 Taylor Swift is a 26 year old singer-songwriter from Reading, PA, which coincidently, is two hours from Lewisburg. The style of Taylor’s music has changed significantly
When the opening track from Taylor Swift’s album 1989 blares through my room my whole body electrifies with sound of pure creativity. The album cover is showered with Swift’s recognizable handwriting over a polaroid showing a timeless sweatshirt, most likely from the 80’s. Inside is filled with Swift’s crisp voice singing brilliantly written hooks about everything from love to insecurities to finding yourself in a world that has already defined you.In 1989, Swift somehow found a way to take her creativity to the next level, and since my brain tends to be a creative mess with ideas bubbling through constantly I fell in love with the uniqueness that flows from the speakers when I plug in 1989. As a creative person myself, listening to something
Taylor Swift likes to invoke a lot of emotion into her music and includes several things she has experienced in her life. One major recurring theme in her songs is love.
She is a 10 time Grammy award winner, and among the five artists to ever win a Grammy for album of the year she is the only female to ever win more than once. Her hit song “You Belong with Me” resonated with millions of young girls many of which connected with the lines “If you could see/ That I’m the one /Who understands you/ Been here all along/ So why can’t you see/ You belong with me”. She turns ordinary teenage girl experiences into fresh country and pop songs. She grew up fascinated by music which led to her success as a Country/Pop artist. She constantly strives to make sure that her fame does not get in the way of her truly being herself. Taylor does not read into any of the articles about her in magazines to avoid getting caught up in all the gossip that publicity spreads about her. Taylor has made a huge impact on music industry, from selling out Madison Square Garden, to record breaking songs and albums. Award winning singer and song writer Taylor Swift, is still forming her legacy as she continues to make history in the music industry, while garnering a large fan base worldwide.
It talks about how the drama of Swift’s failed relationship with Harry Styles simmers in the details of the verses before the bombast of the chorus brings the pay-off. A brilliantly crafted track on every level from beginning to end. But not only in that song, Billboard mentions that in an interview "Swift says she has hardly dated since splitting with One Direction's Harry Styles early in 2013, and the songs' musical styles follow the character types she plays on the album: train wreck waiting to happen ("Blank Space"), committed partner ("I Know Places," "This Love"), penitent breaker-upper ("I Wish You Would"), spurned break-upee ("All You Had to Do Was Stay"). Lyrical references to him are all over the album: There are several vehicular-mishap analogies (the pair were in a snowmobile accident in 2013) and even a song called 'Style.'" Even though the songs were inspired from him, I do not like the way she reflected her break up on these
The word evil is most often associated with death or physically harmful things. But in Flannery O’Connor’s “A Good Man Is Hard To Find” the Misfit shows that evil is not only in physical actions but by also how you judge and treat people as demonstrated by the Grandmother in the story. The Misfit although is not seen as a fully developed character, he brings contradiction to the definition of evil and is also a main character of the story.
Taylor Swift really knows how to have hidden messages and secrets throughout her lyrics and music videos. Taylor Swift also likes to trash talk other celebrities including Kim Kardashian and Katy Perry. Which gives a viewer a good chance to critic her lyrics and videos.
Thesis statement: Taylor Swift is one of the most successful female artists in the world who portrays her personal experiences through her music.
Independent, yup that’s me. According to the internet independent is being free from outside control; not depending on another 's authority. To me, being independent means being able to take care of yourself and taking responsibility for any decisions you make in life. Not only does it mean that, it also means that in certain obstacles you have to be strong for those who need you and kind to those who needs your guidance. Whether you know people or not you should always show kindness, never know who that person could be. Me and Mrs. Hopewell from the short story, “Good Country People” by, Flannery O’Connor, are two very independent, strong, and kind women. Most famous for her platitudes, or clichés, Mrs. Hopewell is Hulga 's mother. It took me a few times to read this book and really get the understanding about each one of the characters. My goal in this paper is to show you how me and Mrs. Hopewell are similar in most situations.
Flannery O’Connor was a southern belle born in Savannah, Georgia in 1925. She was a Catholic girl living in the Bible belt of the country. She lived in “two different worlds” (Meyer, 421); the fictional world that she created for her stories and her personal life. In her stories, she used exciting characters so that she could live through them and live an “interesting” life. She uses her stories to portray totally unanticipated, but totally plausible things. “O’Connor’s stories present complex experiences that cannot be tidily summarized; it takes the entire story to suggest the meanings” (Meyer, 426). She uses her characters to show irony, private experiences, fears, and diverse parallels into her story “Good Country People”.
A student by the name of Leilani Thomas silently protests her rights ,as she stays seated during the pledge of allegiance .She is Native American and strongly defends her culture and beliefs .In her homeroom class, a teacher wasn't pleased with her decision .So the teacher deducted points off her participation grade because she remains seated during the inauguration of pledge allegiance .Thomas was dumbfounding by the teacher lack of remorse and unintelligent response. The teacher told Leilani “you are making bad choices.”In Thomas defense , she is not making a bad decision moreover, she is standing for her ancestors.
To the uninitiated, the significance of Flannery O 'Connor 's Parker 's Back can seem at once cold and dispassionate, as well as almost absurdly stark and violent. Her short stories routinely end in horrendous, freak fatalities or, at the very least, a character 's emotional devastation. Flannery O 'Connor is a Christian writer, and her work is message-oriented, yet she is far too brilliant a stylist to tip her hand; like all good writers, crass didacticism is abhorrent to her. Unlike some more cryptic writers, O 'Connor was happy to discuss the conceptual and philosophical underpinnings of her stories, and this candor is a godsend for the researcher that seeks to know what makes the writer tick.
Well, 2009 was when Taylor Swift reigned over the radio airwaves with songs from her sophomore album Fearless. She was becoming more and more popular because of the songs she wrote. William Michael Morgan is also a songwriter from Nashville, and has worked with Swift.
The audience may think the top of their heads might blow off, when first hearing the song “Mystery of Iniquity” by Lauryn Hill. The album that the song was on (MTV Unplugged No. 2.0) went on to sell 5 million copies. Sure, there are females that rap, sure there are other ground-breaking studio productions that were a work of art in and of itself, and sure rappers use lyrics that connect to relationships, politics, faith, and cultural criticism, but not like the famous Lauryn Hill. The poetic devices in Lauryn Hill’s “Mystery of Iniquity” reveal society’s inevitable self-destruction through societal stigmas and stereotypes, justice system flaws, and religious references. To all the people who said that hip-hop had nothing important to say, and had not a lick of musical bone in them, this song was a smack in the face to all the haters.
J.P Morgan understands the game, he was taught at a young age to avoid risks and he wants to stop being like his father Junius Spencer Morgan. J.P Morgan was fascinated in the light bulb he knows electric light will transform human existence and he sees it’s his time to make his own invention or invest in one to change America.
