I believe that play and social interaction keep an essential role in every child’s development, that is the reason I decided to pursue a career in childcare. Through daily interaction with children in their early years, I find children are so interesting, the way they can be so creative and imaginative is amazing.
I truly enjoy being able to support the children along their learning and discovering adventure with new concepts, ideas and experiences. The children should be introduced to understand about themselves so that they can learn who they are, who they can be and will be. It is a fulfilling feeling to know that as an early childhood educator, I can help to support the children to open their minds. At times, as cooperate in learning

I believe that in order to provide the highest quality child care service to all families, it is important to treat them as individual, intellectual young minds regardless of gender, age, ability, economic status, family structure, lifestyle, ethnicity, religion, language, culture, or national origin.
Children are motivated to learn when they have opportunities to make choices in an environment that is secure, enriching and stimulating. Children are curious from infancy and have a desire to learn from their environment and people around them. When children are encouraged to interact with their peers and adults in positive ways, they feel safe to explore their surroundings.
With FAMILIES – My aim is to work collaboratively with families to acknowledge in order to have a better understanding about their child and base on this knowledge to create a unique child’s interest based curriculum.
PEERS - My aim is to provide interesting and challenging opportunities for children to engage with others to develop trust, friendships, acceptance and a sense of belonging. The children will be encouraged to explore and celebrate similarities and differences within our
In summary I believe to be an Early Childhood Educator one has to be able to keep up with everything. There is no single purpose to educate, but if I had to choose a soul representative it would be to shape our world. Children’s needs must be met in order to do that. To be am Early Childhood Educator one has to be patient, patient, and patient. Putting all of these things together gives one the end product of a successful
All Children and young people in your care should be treated with the same respect and have the same rights and access to
The relationship between play and learning seems obvious to many child professionals and parents, and yet there are still lack of understanding surrounding the importance of children's play. Some people believe that children need to "work" not play, and that playing serves no useful purpose in a learning and development environment. This is surprising considering that play, with its high levels of motivation and potential enjoyment empowers children (as well as people
All service providers for children and young people are required by law to ensure that their policies, procedures and strategies demonstrate a positive and inclusive attitude towards all individuals regardless of age, gender, gender identity, race, background, nationality, culture, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion or any form of disability. This encourages all practitioners, children and young people to understand and value diversity - promoting a positive impact on their perception of others and their own self esteem.
My personal beliefs about children and learning include; having the children feel safe and welcome, because safety is the number one rule in a child care center. Children should learn the basic things of life. Some of those include, reading and writing, science and math, art and games. Children need a good sense of education to teach them the basic things they need.
It took me a few tries to figure out what I wanted my major to be. Whenever I would pick something, I felt like I had no direction. When I discovered DTC, I was instantly intrigued because I have loved doing things on the computer since I was a young child. Things such as Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator fascinate me. I think that this fascination began in high school when I designed layouts for my high school yearbook. Since I began taking DTC classes, I realized that manipulating images and texts digitally is something that I want to do as a career. I believe that finishing my time at WSU with a degree in DTC will allow me to achieve my goal of becoming either a web designer or graphic designer. A DTC education will provide me with the knowledge I need to create high-quality products that are both digitally advanced and visually appealing.
Throughout the past couple of months, I have started to consider going into the field of Child Life. Yet, during our meeting I realized that what I like about the occupation is the setting. I have always considered working with children before, because I have worked with children so much already. I recognized that I do not want to work with children where play is the primary focus. I would rather work in a setting that is more controlled.
As I think children are young, and they should get more love and support from their living environment.
With my interest in early childhood education research, this program will be most beneficial for my career path because of its strict focus on the age range of birth to age eight. While learning through online work and applied activities, I can use the knowledge I have gained throughout my studies when completing the in-person clinical experiences hours. Working in the educational field will allow me to change the challenges that current students, future students, and past students, like myself, struggle or struggled with. I will not only work to educate my students but also work to get to know each and every one of my students on a personal basis. Learning about the whole child, I will be able to determine their strengths and weaknesses and apply the knowledge gained through the program to help each child succeed in the classroom. If I am given the chance to complete this program, I will go on to further my education in a doctorate program. This next step will allow me to better educate myself as an educator to be successful within my
I think that learning this learning theory best explains the relationship between motivation and learning is social learning. Whatever qualities interaction with others may have, there is no question but that such interaction possesses all the qualities that Berlyne has characterized as collative and that it is a never ending source of surprise, ambiguity, and complexity. It may be that it is these collative qualities that lead children to seek interaction with others. Children are always attracted to each other for functional reasons, in the sense that they need the help and protection of others in order to cope with their environment. they are attracted to others at times when they have no need of help and they also seek the company of individuals
In the past years after I graduated CTA I was attending Academy of Art University, took Web Design as major. But very soon after that I started to party a lot and got into drugs which brought me a lot of problems. Then I decided to go and live in Spain so I could leave all that behind. I stayed in the Christian community where I was helping people to fight their problems. There I became fluent in Spanish.
In today’s preschool culture, the role and value of play is very important for children; a rich environment filled with playmates, opportunities to learn how to share, take turns, self-regulate, and make life-long friends only scratches the surface of why play is central for children’s development. Parents aren’t seeing what is happening: what they see as random play is actually being utilized to help the child grow socially, emotionally, and physically. Parents believe that children should be spending more time working at an academic level instead of spending their time playing with blocks, puzzles, or being with friends.
I grew up loving children of all ages and wanting to be a caregiver. I was the baby sitter and nanny to the neighborhood and my church ward. When I was in High School’s it was no surprise to anyone that I chose to work in the school’s child care center. I continued working with children at several child care centers until I went to school.
“Motivation can be defined as the process by which children’s goal-directed activity is instigated and attained” (Pintrich & Schunk, 1996, p. 159). The purpose of motivation is to keep the individual moving toward the goal and with that the motivation can either be intrinsic or extrinsic. Intrinsic motivation is participating in a desired activity just for the pleasure and this is central to humans’ tendencies to learn and develop. While with extrinsic motivation the desired activity has some type of outcome such as praise or a reward attached to the activity.
This is achieved by giving children opportunities. Opportunities to move, to dress themselves, to choose what they want to do, and to help the adult with tasks. When the children are able to do things for themselves there is an increase in their self belief and even self confidence and esteem that they may carry on throughout their life. Play, and the growth and development it provides, is a major element of quality child care.
