Teamwork cannot be demanded. Everyone involved must discuss and understand what the goal is and what is required of them. Teams should have traits such as goals and objectives, empowerment, trust, authentic participation, innovation, creativity, risk taking and leadership. (Temme and Katzel, 1995)
Whilst planning the teams work it is essential that the Manager makes use of peoples skills and knowledge to ensure their objectives and goals are achieved. An objective is “a specific result that a person or system aims to achieve within a time frame and with available resources” (WebFinance Inc., 2017) and a goal is “an observable and measurable end result having one or more objectives to be achieved within a more or less fixed timeframe” (WebFinance Inc., 2017). A goal defines the direction and destination, but the road to get there is accomplished by a series of objectives” (WebFinance Inc., 2017). Clear responsibilities and roles, the structure of the team, job descriptions, competencies, accountabilities, resources, tools and equipment should all be provided. Problem solving, communicating, managing conflicts, tasks, planning meetings, performance evaluation, managing change and decision making should follow clear procedures ensuring effective team working. Positive relationships, mutual respect and trust, continuing support and inclusion, valuing diversity and listening to feedback can overcome challenges to effective team performance. There are four main types of barriers in communication. Any of these barriers can ruin the chances of success in any given project or task that we are trying to achieve here at XYZ Company. I was asked by our Vice President to give some suggestions and guidelines to help you avoid these barriers, which will allow your team to run more productively, with less need to take corrective actions, and decrease frustration within the team.
Our goal is to work collectively and cohesively by converging our mindsets and strengths together. We feel that it is essential for us to work well together and create meaningful relationships in order to be successful in both the Business Management and Managing Work and Teams courses. The vision of our team is to establish strong teamwork skills that will supplement our future success throughout our four years at Smith. 3.1 One way to ensure your personal and team gaols aligh with the organisations goals and plans is to have a team performance plan. The purpose of this is to ensure these goals are clearly linked to the organisations goals and objectives. Consulting, negotiating and agreeing the objectives in the team plan before the work is allocated supports achievements of expected out comes. An effective team performance plan links goal achievement by the team and individual team members to organisational goals and objectives. Rewards linked to team rather than individual performance, such as certificates of achievement and team of the year awards, promote high team performance.
How will you address these barriers? Your response should be at least 100 words. There are potential barriers that might arise during team formation. The barriers are lack of communication, lack of trust, background differences, and different work styles. These barriers will be address to ensure decrease in team collaboration is not disrupted. The new team formation to create new designed product will consist of a variation of divisional employees along with new employees, to address the issues it is important to create training sessions. Training sessions will contain tools and resources to build trust and to get to know one another. Once the team players learn background information and work styles of other employees through assessments and games the project to build new design will be implemented with a higher success rate.

Teamwork is the backbone of effective communication and the crucial cog that keeps the wheel of successful project management turning. The role of teamwork in enhancing problem solving skills, cohesion, learning, and productivity can no longer be ignored. Proper teamwork plays an integral role in promoting the effective implementation and fulfillment of shared goals in a team project in a manner that is better and quicker. Team work also provides a solid platform on which team members can take on different responsibilities and contribute in ways that together makes the entire team an effective unit.
Secondly, high performing teams understood where they were, where they are going and how they were going to get there and it was all linked to goals. Successful teams set achievable goals and create a road map on how to follow them with goals in between and beyond the company’s mission statement. In setting team goals they ensure to set individual goals that begin by defining the roles of each individual on the team. Successful managers clearly express expectations and ensure individual goals align with team goals which result in alignment with company goals (Abdallah & Ahluwalia, 2013). When teams met, meetings were highly organized and managers were able to seamlessly move from person to person and accurately gage where each members contributions stood in relation to team and corporate goals. Members were highly engaged and involved with each other, collaborating and assisting each other with completing tasks.
