Teenagers drug use
Now ,there are lots of teenagers all over the world who use drug. And it becomes a very normal thing in society. According to foundation for a drug free world, we realize that drugs can make a person stop thinking and become very dull.(Drug Free World). And now all medicine has drug, so teenagers do not know how bad they are.I think now the society has two big elements, that can cause teenagers use drug , such as environment and different personalities.
First main point is environment. In the environment, I divide it into two parts, family and friends. Because we can not live by ourselves, we need to go along with others, and if you stay with a person for long time,he can influent you. For the family part, there are lots of different abuses in the family. Like divorce, in China, more than 21% people divorce, and 20% want to divorce(Chinese Newspaper). Sometimes parents think divorce is not a very important thing, but that can make their children feel harmful. Make them lose confident and want to do something bad to attack their parents, want their parents to think highly of them. I have a very good friend, she is a very pretty girl. But her parents divorced five years ago, she felt very sad, she thought her parents did not think highly of her. She became a gay, she did not want to find a boy like her father, she always felt
A recent study from Yale University suggests that drug is a development disorder, one that affects teens in particular. The reason for this is certain areas of teens brains that control impulsive behavior are not fully formed. During adolescence, the human brain begins to release more chemicals affiliated with new experiences and the desire to repeat them. Areas of the brain that adults use to think about the risks of behaviors are still developing in teens. The bottom line is this, teenagers are more likely to experiment with drugs than any other age group.
Three decades from now, T.L.O., a student at a New Jersey High School was caught smoking in a school restroom, and was brought to the assistant principal’s office. The 14-years-old teenager denied smoking, so the assistant principal persisted in searching her purse and found cigarettes, and rolling paper which is associated with marijuana (T.L.O. vs. New Jersey). Nothing has changed since then. If you look a little closer, you can see teenagers lying around doing drugs here and there. They are no longer determined to succeed in life; instead all they can think about is where the next supply of cocaine will come from. What has our future come to? Research done by scientists and other professionals provide evidence that substance abuse by teenagers is an ever-growing problem due to teen’s poor judgement, it’s irreparable damage, and inability to compete with drug addiction.
Due to how high the drinking age is teens have started to turn away from drinking and have become interested in other dangerous substances and drugs. A study found in the US states that after the drinking age was increased from 19 to 21, 22% of students reported that “they are going to take drugs.” Teens are always trying to show off to their friends how cool they are by taking these substances and drugs which will just lead them to an unhappy live in prison and or a rehab
The existence of a myriad of social problems among teenagers that both parents and states have to deal with is a factor whose weight ought not to be treated lightly. The increasing level of drug use among the adolescents constitutes one of the ever increasing situations in the society and may, as a matter of fact, be a representation other underlying issues. The level of the situation in the contemporary world, though not discussed as much as it ought to be, has reached alarming levels. There seems to be an increasing predisposition among the use to take the drugs as it's reflected in the escalating trends of drug abuse among this generation of individuals (spooner, 1999). The ever deteriorating levels of this situation coupled with the widespread permissiveness in the society and the absence of attention from appropriate caregivers at different institutions only means that the need to address the problem is paramount. Different avenues of solutions can be applied in reducing the level of the problem and averting the massive negative consequences that come with the phenomena. Dealing with this issue is not a matter of instance as the different parameters of the problems, its causes and possible workable solutions have to be discovered. As such, research on these dynamics is a mandatory undertaking.
Teens abusing drugs while in school is not the right way because they struggle while they are in class and affects their learning. Teens getting addicted to drugs while in school. Teens In a young age do drugs while in school, high schoolers having young friends, peer pressure the teenagers to do drugs with them. Teenagers bring drugs to school and leaving or doing drugs during school isn't the right way to come to school because people try to act cool around other people, teens haven't seen how they act in person. Teens not doing drugs would succeed in life because they would not have a slow mentality because after teens start doing drugs a lot they slow down and they can't listen well.
After reviewing the drug abuse rates of the United States. I have chosen Colorado to be my prime topic of concern. This essay will explore the reasons why adolescents abuse substances in Colorado, the most popular substances and the how they’re acquired, how they affect the teenage demographic/society (school, and house), how this has been dealt with in the future.
Drug usage has been around for a very long time. More teenagers began using drugs in the 60’s and 70’s; however, just here recently teenage drug use has become more “normal.”
There are two reasons that a teenager may turn to drugs. The first is peer pressure. A teenager may be following the advice of his peers. Everyone is influenced by the people that are around them. If a teenager’s peers are encouraging him to try drugs, he is more inclined to experiment with the drug in order to fit in with the crowd.
There are some reason that teenagers involve in drugs use. Firstly, other people Teenagers see lots of people using various substances. They see their parents and other adults drinking alcohol, smoking, and, sometimes, abusing other substances. Also, the teen social scene often revolves around drinking and smoking pot. At times companions ask each other to attempt a drink or smoke something, yet it's similarly as regular for high school to begin utilizing a substance since its promptly accessible and they see every one
Teens usually abuse certain drugs that people usually wouldn 't think they used . The most popular drug that teen abuse is tobacco products, cannabinoids also known as marijuana, cold medications, inhalants such as gasoline or ammonia, depressants, stimulant, Narcotics like morphine, oxycodone, codeine, hallucinogens, Dissociative, or Club drugs like ecstasy know as X (Edwards). At least 3,900 children under the age of eighteen have either tried or have been offered one of these drugs (“Facts”). More teens die from prescription drugs and about fifty precent of those teens that are seniors in high school think that crack or cocaine is harmless to their body (“11”).Using drugs can put people in danger of HIV/AIDS when a person is high off drugs it can make or break their judgment (“Facts”).This will make them either use more drugs also known as a gateway drug like marijuana.
“The human brain is structured to ensure that individuals will repeat behaviors necessary to survival and well-being. To do this, the brain associates such behaviors with a “reward,” or feeling of pleasure”(Addiction). This natural occurrence in the body, this “pleasurable feeling”, has led to a plethora of harmful and dangerous substances being grown, manufactured, and sold, whether it be medicinal- for the use of sickness or injury (usually prescribed)- or illegally, which tend to be more harmful and more “alluring” so to speak, because of its illegality. Either it be legal or illegal, misuse of substances and eventual addiction harms not only the individual, but the community and society.
In the youth drug is used mainly to be sociable, in other words be cool with their peers and sometimes are subject to peer pressure by other youth. The lack of experience and knowledge makes it easier for teens to think nothing will happen to them even if they try it once but fail to realize that it only takes once to get hooked and be under the wrath of drugs for a long time and or for a lifetime. Some youth not only use drugs to be trendy, they also get comfortable in it because of traumatic events in their life that drives them to try drugs and use it as a
“I’m in love with the coco” (a song depicting a love for cocaine song by O.T. Genasis), just one of the most recent songs to have explicit usage of drugs. Referring to drug usage and sales is a popular trend in today 's hip-hop and rap lyrics. As a society where do we draw the line with censorship of this material? Not only are the lyrics being said, but the drug usage is also being portrayed in the music videos; all the way from marijuana usage to cocaine and popping pills. There 's no doubt that this type of music has a negative effect on today 's youth, but by censoring, this variety of music are we in effect censoring the culture and reality that sings it.
At a point in his or her life, everyone has the desire to escape from reality. Whether they are successful or not, instead of facing their problems, they would rather pretend like their problems do not exist. People tend to pick up bad habits that either stay with them forever or go away through therapy and treatment. For some people their escape is through drugs. They obtain this bad habit because drugs allows them to forget everything negative. Some people choose to use drugs because of household situations. Others choose drugs because they feel pressure from friends. There are also some that want to get away from a painful reality. According to Maria Salinas (2012), “Drugs are chemicals. They work in the brain by tapping into the
Peer influence is the dominant reason for teenagers to take drugs. Usually, friends among a group share same interests and their behaviors are expected to be consistent with one another. At the same time, teenagers try to gain respect and recognition from their friends by involving in common activities. If their groups of friends take drugs, they would be repelled and teased if they rejected to do the same. In order not to be excluded from the
