In our days, people all around the world more or less suffer from hunger, diseases, poverty, inequality, crime, wars and etc., and government of different countries are not there to change things, but instead to keep things as they are. There is a solution in understanding the nature of this suffering and finding the alternative government system, which will solve the puzzle. Such system was introduced by Jacque Fresco under the Venus Project. I am arguing that the best form of government is the “self-actualized society”. It is the scientific and technologically organized society where the role for government would be surpassed by engineered systems. The self-actualized society will replace money-based economies with a resource-based world economy. There would be interdisciplinary teams of knowledgeable people in different fields accompanied by cybernated systems to monitor all aspects of society to provide real-time information supporting decision-making for the wellbeing of all people and the protection of the environment. There are two reasons: people will have healthier, safer, and flourishing environment, and the society will have more advanced and rapidly developing science.
Many current politicians say that the environment is not important and so, there is no need in self-actualized society. The planet has been here long before us and it will be after, it changes with time and with human impact, but it will heal itself without our help.
Also, many people say that
Totalitarianism diminishes the idea of individuality and destroys all chances of self-improvement, and human’s natural hunger for knowledge. In George Orwell’s famous novel, “1984”, totalitarianism is clearly seen in the exaggerated control of the state over every single citizen, everyday, everywhere. Totalitarianism can also be seen in the book “Brave New World” by Aldous Huxley, in which humans are synthetically made and conditioned for their predestinated purpose on earth. The lack of individualism will lead a community towards a dystopia in which freedom is vanished by the uncontrolled power of the state.
Environmentalists worry so much about the well-being of the planet for merely the human species’ survival. Things such as natural disasters, which reasons.org say “Part of that response acknowledges that the forces behind these ‘natural disasters’ play a critical role in Earth’s capacity to support life.” If people are so concerned about the planet, then people should realize that these natural disasters actually help the Earth regenerate itself. Without these natural ‘disasters’, the planet would not be how it is today. As Nash continues to criticize humans, he states, “...capitalist-driven culture in its cancer-like tendency to self destruct.” Pollution and destruction of wildlife is a problem, but it is something that can be fixed, or having Earth fix itself. Nash is saying that humans are destroying the planet entirely, which is kind of ridiculous. If people were really destroying the Earth as much as Nash says, Earth itself would have already gotten rid of people through things like natural disasters, disease, or natural selection. The Earth will take care of itself and as Tom Haering says, “Nature plays no favorites: Survival of the fittest.”
Different societies have risen and fallen in the continual search for the “perfect” society. The definition of this utopia is in constant flux due to changing times and cultural values. Many works of literature have been written describing a utopian society and the steps needed to achieve it. However, there are those with a more cynical or more realistic view of society that comment on current and future trends. These individuals look at the problems in society and show how to solve them with the use of control and power. Such a society is considered undesirable and has become known as dystopian society.
But if we don’t protect earth, we will face more and more environment problem, global warming intensifies, glaciers melt and forests reduced. We can live in earth. So, if we protect environment, it will be better. Environmentalist also gives people a hope.
Many people do not live ecofriendly lives or find protecting the environment to be important.
The first is that humans needs and natures needs are two separate issues. The idea that they're not irrevocably intertwined is inane, because we want the environment to thrive so that we can continue to exploit it. The second misconception is our reliance on technological advances that may or may not happen to save the environment. This diamond implies is a foolish thing to do, as many monumental issues are all waiting to be fixed with technology that isn't coming, or that if it does ever come, it won't be an instantaneous thing. Third and finally, is the perception that those who fear for the environment are fear-mongers, doom-sayers, and rabble rousers. Their cries of warning falling on deaf ears because the effects of environmental damage has yet to reach the public. While the citizens of America may not feel the effects, there's a great many third world countries that do and are. Places where overpopulation and famine are rampant are prime spots for wars, terrorism, and emigration which then spreads the very same problems to other
The world is being sickened by the needs of man in today's society. People, love to live in luxury without knowing the consequences of their actions. This is because man lives at a pace set by himself, and not one that is naturally set by nature. This is shown excellently in a quote inside of the novel Silent Spring by Rachel Carson. The Quote states, “the rapidity of change and the speed with which new situations are created follow the impetuous and heedless pace of man rather than the deliberate pace of nature.” The Earth is experiencing such rapid and disastrous change due to the wants of man. Man demands too much from the earth and not only is this changing the Earth, but it is also depleting many non renewable resources
Throughout world history, people have come up with brilliant new ideas to make life easier, and as time goes on, research, making food, and getting news, has all become instantaneous. It now only takes the push of a button to cook a thanksgiving meal or the click of a remote to find out what’s happening across the world. These things are often taken for granted, and rarely does someone stop and say: “I wonder what turning on this extra lamp does to the environment?” This statement sounds insignificant when there are people starving in other countries and people are training for the army. Yet, being concerned about the environment is not necessarily a bad thing. In fact, the environment should be one of the biggest concerns among people, as
With these possibilities comes choices. No matter what the circumstance is, there is always a choice. The question then comes down to, will we make the right choice. When it comes to the environment, people seem to make choices that reap in our benefit. “To realize these aspirations, we must decide to live with a sense of universal responsibility, identifying ourselves with the whole Earth community as well as our local communities” (The Earth Charter, 2016). People don’t realize our actions effect more than just us as humans. There are several other mammals, amphibians, reptiles, etc. that live among us. Earth has a give and take relationship. If we give to the Earth it will take care of us and its inhabitants if we take care of it. However, if we take from Earth, and essentially destroy it, it will destroy us. According to the World Health Organization, “it has been estimated that more than 12.5 million people died due to their exposure to an unhealthy environment worldwide, accounting for 25% of the total global deaths in 2012.” This is much like the case studies found in Ecoliterate. There is one case in particular about a father who watches as his daughter crawls towards him on their front patio. A moment that is supposed to be filled with joy quickly turns to anger when he picks her up and notices she is covered in coal dust. This dust came from the coal mining that is happening just down the road. As the child grows older she is
A lot of people wonder what is the purpose of government, why is it there anyway? This is a good question because even though many people think they know what the purpose of government is, other people disagree and this sometimes can cause government to not be affective. This is because people in Washington are always fighting over things that don’t matter very much but don’t pay enough attention to solving problems. I think the purpose of government is to do what the people tell them to do, that is why they elected them.
United States’ President Ronald Reagan once said, “Preservation of our environment is not a liberal of conservative challenge, it’s common sense (Ronald).” Although throughout history countless of prominent figures in society have set the issue of the well being of our planet as a top priority, the majority of the world population has come to ignore it until now, when it has directly affected their lives. Around the entire globe, droughts, floods, food shortages, poverty, and the overall deterioration of our planet. Although larger developed countries, such as the United States and China, have taken numerous small steps to improve conditions within their own countries further steps must be taken to preserve the only planet the human
This can happen only when people become sensitive towards to the environment. Human Social activities play an important role in harming the environment. Activities like Industrialization, loss of ecological balance, Air pollution, water pollution, excessive use of natural resources, and extinction of wildlife etc. lead to various other environmental problems. It is important to understand that all these problems are interconnected and it further leads to a major problem. Furthermore, it is very important to follow a plan in the case of an environment as unplanned urbanization and agricultural plans lead to various other problems. Hence, human social activities need to be carried out in a plan and a organized way in order to have a sustainable
Environmental issues have been a cause of a lot of debate in the recent past. Governments and nongovernmental organizations have been in constant consultations on how to help protect the environment. Apparently, as a result of man’s many actions, the natural environment is getting torn apart so quickly that the coming generations will not enjoy this kind of environment, unless a
By everyone is too much to this earth is that people do a lot of damage than they are aware of. There is so much pollution than there should ever be. With all these cars and public transportation for everyone. And trying to make ecofriendly cars and more is actually is same and making regular cars. The factories that make these car produce the same about of pollution as the others. In China, the pollution is so bad that people wear masks. The air alone is gray and musky. There is a little over one billion people in china. That’s one seventh of the whole population. Global warming is becoming a big factor and no one realizes that it’s because the more people, the more they want, so the more they make.
Have you ever wondered about the role of government in society? Henry Cloud, a leadership expert and psychologist, claims that “every human being must have boundaries in order to have successful relationships or a successful performance in life” (Cloud). However, on the broader spectrum, can this message also apply to our government? Even if you have not considered these two questions, you will certainly have expectations from the government, which may be related to your wellbeing and/or the society’s wellbeing. Since each individual has different expectations, it is easier to analyze the role of government by considering societal expectations. Societal expectations are commonly shared views about the role of an exceptional government, which would include security, right to equal opportunity, and economic prosperity. Thus, the role of a government is to ensure that the country is moving towards economic prosperity along with providing security to its residents. However, does this mean that all of the government’s decisions are directed towards this responsibility? Unfortunately, this is not always the case; there are many times of when a government oversteps its boundaries by hindering economic progress or sacrificing domestic security. One example of this would be the USA’s decision to send its military aid to Pakistan for fighting terrorism. Nonetheless, there are also many times of when a government acts within its boundaries by ensuring the protection of its residents.
