The Different Types of Media Essay

I have chosen the movie Signs to do my worldview analysis on. First, I will discuss the worldviews that the main characters in the movie have. I will then answer the question of if the characters were true to their worldviews. I will also discuss the obstacles that the main characters faced that deterred the character or characters from living out their worldview. Lastly, I will describe mental, emotional, or spiritual reactions I had to the movie as well as explain if I agree or disagree with the worldview present in the movie.

Media is everywhere, it became a part of our life. We are exposed to thousands of ad messages every day and it's hard to imagine how it would feel to live without them constantly surrounding us. Today we see ads in print publications, TV commercials, emails, on different products, massively scattered in sport venues, and it’s even spreading into public spaces. One is a newspaper article written by Polly Toynbee and is called ‘Sorry, but I think dying people are more important than dumb animals,’ this was published in the Guardian. The other is a leaflet with the title ‘It’s a crying shame’ which is design for animal aid.

Media usage can be a positive thing, it benefits many businesses as a way to promote their brand and items, as well as creates networks for young entrepreneurs. Media usage however, also has it down falls, from cyber bullying to misrepresenting news to people as well as portraying a false image of what one should look like.
