Executive Summary
The purpose of this study report was to make an analysis of current HR functions in Acme Manufacturing, identify gaps, and give recommendations that provide a sense of direction for HR department aligned with the organizational objectives.
The report analyzed basic role played by HR department of the company. More specifically, the report study examined whether HR activities of the company conformed to the existing legislation in the areas of selection, pay equity, pension and retirement benefits, labour relations, and occupational health and safety.
The report found that the HR policies and actions of the company mostly adhered to existing legislation and best practices relating to human resource management. However there were two areas relating to HR that the company was not according to legal requirements and HR best practices.

• Proper Job Evaluation System
There was gender discrimination that originated due to influence of previous owner of the company. Also there was no proper job evaluation system in place to assess the employees. In light of the analysis, a number of recommendations were suggested to change the current HR policies and bring it in line with legal and statutory requirements and company objectives. Short, medium, and long-term strategies were also suggested to implement the recommended course of action within a given time frame.

The recommendations do not go beyond the law requirements. Other factors were the company was within legal compliance because the HR manager responds quickly with an action plan that was received by the employees, and the leadership teams. I have been asked to provide a report that supports the retention of the HR function within our organisation. In this report I will explain how Human Resource activities support the organisations strategy and how HR professionals support line managers and their staff.
Firstly, the internal and external environment and how it relates to their HRM strategy. Secondly, the current problems encountered within the organisation. Thirdly, review of literature to verify or falsify the alleged problems. Fourthly, make recommendations to address and correct the identified problems.
