A man by the name of Walt Disney, is the ideal symbol of an American hero. Disney is known to bring inspiration and imagination into many of his productions. Disneyland, the happiest place on earth, was built by Disney in the late forties. As the founder of Walt Disney Company, and a producer, he has collected a record of fifty- nine nominations as an Academy Award winner, winning thirty-two awards, and still holding the record. At sixty-five, Disney died of lung cancer, leaving behind the Florida theme park to not be completed by him, more known as Disney World. Every hero faces three challenging stages in his or her life, and for Walt disney, he will be introduced in his ordinary world, achieve a goal, and follow a path that is not always direct or clear.

Walt Disney was a very influential man to the entertainment industry. He made animation a whole new type of entertainment. Although Walt went through many struggles and problems, he pushed on and eventually saw results for all his hard work. Many hardships got in Disney’s way such as unsupportive parents and even bankruptcy; Walt pushed on through, always creating, working hard, and persevering to accomplish his dream.

Walter Elias Disney was always seen as a very imaginative and outgoing person at any point in his life. Although it is nearly impossible to pinpoint just one reason for their success, Disney’s core values is what makes this company stand apart from the rest. Keeping these core values rooted within the brand, Disney focused on emphasizing the importance of employee empowerment and benefits, which is why Disney was ranked as one of the top twenty five companies in America to work for. Over the course of this semester, our team has diligently researched the Disney brand and discovered the characteristics of this company that makes it so unique and successful.

This world has existed for millions of years; in all of that time there has been a countless amount of people who have done fantastic things. In the world of successful businesses it is not an unknown factor for one to hit success, one has to have seen failure head on. Disney is one of the most successful corporations in the world. Disney has grown to be known as one the greatest places on earth. Many people travel worldwide to get the Disney experience. Disney came to life many years ago from Walt Elias Disney who used his creativity to create a vision we still enjoy today.

Disney eventually changed the system so now you go to Guest Services and tell the cast member your needs, from there they base it off whether you qualify or not. If you qualify, they give you a card with a certain amount of slots on it; with these slots, you request a ride through a cast member and they give you a time to come back. If you use those slots up, you have to get a new pass. When Disney came out with this, I hit pretty hard by cast members; I literally felt like I was being interrogated. In 2015, they updated the system to while it’s still the same concept everything is digital. After that change, I notice that the cast member weren’t to hard on me. I guess maybe people like me complained to Disney saying that the cast member,

The ability to communicate his vision was just the beginning of Walt Disney’s leadership characteristics. Simply stating ones vision is not enough, you must motivate your followers to reach goals, and Disney was an excellent motivator. One tactic he used to motivate employees was encouraging innovation and rewarding good ideas. In pursuit of additional funding to create new films, Disney reached out to his employees on possible ways to obtain funding from Disneyland. A team of seven people decided to increase revenue they would open the park on weekdays and allow corporate members to offer discounted tickets for their employees. Overall, their plan was a huge success. To reward his employees for their success, on Christmas day each employee opened their door to find Mickey Mouse standing there with an envelope. Inside it were 100 shares of Disney stock, 25 $1,000 bills and a hand-written note from Walt: “It’s fantastic. You’re fantastic. Do it again” (Bradt, 2015).
