Throughout the season of winter, a yellow zesty fruit blossoms from a tree with thorny branches and white flowers with purple edges. This yellow citrus fruit is known as a lemon. In today’s culture, lemons are used for food, skin, hair, cleanings, and are even featured in an iconic American singer’s album. You do not necessarily eat a lemon as a whole. It is usually ingested by cutting it either in half or in pieces, and squeezed for its juice. The acidic juice from a lemon has a very sour and bitter taste but it is enjoyed by many. Wrong. The first thing that comes to my mind when I hear the word “lemon” is of course, Beyoncé. She recently came out with a new visual album named “Lemonade.” Highsnobiety.com (2016) mentions that Beyoncé’s sixth studio album debuted overwhelmingly positive reviews and was described as “defiant,” “brave” and “powerful,” and many felt the visual album was one of her strongest to date. This archetype influences the way people see wealthy people in society. It influences the average middle class person into thinking that money will corrupt them, that those with money are not trustworthy and sexist.
The archetypes in my story is the rule of three, nature versus mechanical world, and has a wise old man. These archetype were presented in my story because it was themed off of chinese culture. I believe the strength of my fairy tale is comparing the difference between what to do and not to do in a given situation. I do believe though that if given more time I would had made a better story than what i had right now. The story I have right now is completely different than what I had originally intended to make. I had to scrape the old fairy tale because it didn’t have any true themes like in other fairy tales. It was in the middle of the day and my friends sitting in a circle were all giggling and laughing while playing truth or dare. If you received a dare and you failed to complete, you would have to take a bite of guinea pig food. It was my turn next. I had one of the worst dares yet and I could just not do it. So my friend got a spoonful of guinea pig food and we all went to the bathroom. I just sat over the toilet in a dark bathroom crammed with all my friends staring at the spoon. I finally took a small bite and immediately purged it all back up. We all started laughing. I can say that is one thing for certain and that is I will never do that again.
I made friends with a lot of Jewish since there weren’t that many where I grew up. We related to each other by major. Colgate was not diverse by today’s diversity standards. There were diverse groups though. There were blacks and Spanish. I have a Jewish and black kids in my class in fraternities. Diversity in the classroom. Its still was not diversity by today’s standards.
