The Importance Of Self Assessment In Education

For an organisation to succeed, self assessment plays an important role. An organisation should know the various ways to achieve its goals. An assessment report is one way for an organisation to keep records and to find out if its activities are performing well. According to the skilled and experienced members, an organisation system needs to be designed and decided. A company cannot be confident before knowing that their verified process are effective. Against the objective the assessment need to be done to determine the extent of the achievement.

The key concepts and principles of assessments include fairness, reliability, validity and safety. These can be defined as follows:

Chapter 10 is important for any administrator. As a principal or superintendent, you will most likely need to evaluate staff and potentially recommend that one of your employees should be non-renewed or discharged. You will also need to be familiar with the teachers' association's negotiated agreement and potentially even advice the school board in the negotiation process. For this discussion, please discuss either: (1) whether you feel teachers and/or administrators should be able to get tenure and whether it should be based on criteria, length of time, or just automatic and why; OR (2) whether you feel teachers should be able to strike and/or be allowed to negotiate their terms of employment with the school district and why. Being able to self-assess will help me increase my critical thinking skills as well as helping me make better decisions in life. Self- assessments encourage me to learn new concepts about myself. I really liked taking these assessments because it lets you know exactly where you lack at and what your strengths are. As said in the recognize what new tasks and subjects i need to put a little more time in. Applying this information to my professional life is going to help me make responsible decisions when i'm working. Also while i'm working in a restaurant it helps me to work with diverse people. So in my personal life and in my professional life in going to work smarter not harder as i read in the orientation packet unit 2. Learning that self-assessment

This course has taught me more than I could imagine over the past few months. I have reached and surpassed many of the goals I set for myself and reached objectives I never thought possible because of this class. Despite my success and continued improvement over the course of the semester, there is still much room for my writing to grow.

This self-assessment will demonstrate the importance of developing a set of responsibilities to become a productive employee for the organization. In this assignment the individual current objectives, and future developing objectives will be discussed. Recommendation on the performance will be made, motivational theories will be analyzed. Solutions to work based problems will be given and the performance of communication in variety styles will be considered .Time management strategies of the individual will be introduced.

I believe that self-assessments are important for a person to partake in because it helps one to make an informed career decision. It helps you know what your values, interest and personality are. It also lists your jobs, skills and training which can serve as a clue as to what job will be a perfect

During our Read section (Bethel University, 2014) we were introduced to a self-assessment. This self-assessment was organized into thirty separate areas of concern. You were then asked to rank yourself between one and five, with five being good, on the perception of how developed you are in those specific areas. I felt this is a good way to reflect personally on your strengths and weaknesses. In completing this self-assessment I didn’t learn anything new, but did reinforce what areas I need to focus on improving.

This semester I plan to use my resources to earn the best possible grade I am able to. There are many techniques that can be used to make sure you get the grade you want. I plan to take responsibility for myself and do the work I need to do to get what I want. Responsibility is the key to success if you can’t be responsible you won’t get anywhere in life. Part of being responsible is making sure you go to things you need to go to, so I plan on going to every class possible. You won’t know what is going on in class if you don’t show up, which could easily lead to a bad grade.

The team should include specific elements in the plan that will address the complex nature of teacher evaluations in an objective manner, yet be able to dig deeper into the process so that real teaching can be measured. Multiple observations, self evaluations, multiple data sources, and pre and post conferences should be included in the plan. Multiple observations and self evaluations will give a broader view of the teacher's performance. We need to include these items in the plan to avoid a narrow snapshot view of teaching so that an accurate evaluation can be obtained. A pre conference gives the administrator the opportunity to establish a positive relationship with the teacher. This is the time to put the teacher at ease and allow the teacher to explain any activities the principal will observe during the evaluation process. The best approach to being able to rate an activity that is generally seen as subjective is to use a rubric. The evaluator should make the teacher aware of the rubric that will be used for the rating the evaluation during this conference. The rubric should have multiple levels

The new Teacher Evaluation System implemented by the State Department of Education is in question. There are issues with the like lack of accuracy and unfair evaluation practice because of excessive power in the hands of principals. The whole system was in place to increase the accountability of teachers and align their rating with that of the results of the school, but within a year of implementation one can discover several loopholes in the framework and there are no promising results.
