Maximum marveling, at the mere assurance, in absolute awareness, of being rooted in the Lord Jesus Christ and His finished work is an exuberant experience. God’s pardon and power becomes ours as a result of receiving Jesus into our hearts. The “in-Christ” doctrine is amazing. Placing complete trust in Christ and His finished work, its vastness of provision, and all that it has cinched for us will change our lives. As our disposition becomes grateful and we learn of Him and His love, this will make us lovelier. Identity is included in this vastness. Authentic definition of who we are is in our connection with Christ. Accomplishments, popularity, appearance, fortune, education, sordid pasts, family, behavior, strengths, weaknesses,
We have the two laws, the Law of nature and the law of human nature or moral law. Two world views discussed are the “Life-force” philosophy, an overall creator, or “Creative evolution”, which holds that any variation on this planet evolved from a life-force. You would have to dig deeper to see if they mean one with a mind.
The Christian reality consists of both a physical and a supernatural world. Men for a long time have been aware of these two realities and yet many times have only looked at just one or the other. The Greek philosophers have held opposing views on what is real. These philosophies are known as idealism or realism. Each hold to truths that are found in Christian beliefs, but also contain beliefs that are opposed to Christianity.
3. What is the significance of the fact that the words of the Bible were inspired by God?
If all else were for not, restoring our relationship with the God of the universe should be enough, but His blessings go deeper still and a relationship with Him is so much more. God offers us rest in this life. Though the natural corruption of man incites attitudes that are directly controversial to the Jesus’s teaching of the Beatitudes10, if we accept His teachings and nurture in our lives the meekness He speaks of in the gospel of Matthew, we will begin to experience God’s kingdom manifested in this life. No longer should we see through the corrupt lenses of this world into the kingdom of God, but we are to see through the pure and perfect eyes of God into the kingdom of man. Keeping a heavenly-sighted mind as described earlier in the
Every person in the world, from generations past to future civilizations, sees the world through a lens that can be defined as a worldview. Every lens is different because every person is unique. Many of these worldviews share similar overarching themes leading into a category we have titled religion; however, worldview is not simply composed of a religious affiliation. Worldview encompasses the entirety of how an individual views the world and all that is that within it. This view often becomes dictated by their religious beliefs and personal interaction with society and culture.
According to Schaffer, in America and most of the western world, a growing issue was the belief system. This issue is mainly the growing difference between two different belief systems: The humanist and the Christian beliefs. The main difference between these two systems is the perception of the final reality of existence, which leads to an impossibility for them to coexist as each one contradicts the other in aspects such as abortion, homosexuality, etc. This creates a problematic among government 's identifying with one or the other when interpreting Law.
The Creed of Constantinople accepted the Creedal Christianity in 325, and made it known that it was the view to be followed. There are four acts of the early creeds, these being: God is recognized as creator, the son of God who comes from God, saves us, the Holy spirit is associated with the origins and sustaining energy of church, and Assortment of plot lines or details that further identify the believing community or the fate of that community. There are also two Christian commitments that will forever be followed, that there is only one God, and Jesus is Lord. Creedal Christianity follows this in explaining that Jesus is 3 persons, and 1 being (one being in God), because Jesus is eternally begotten of the father. This becoming the Trinity
Christians see the life of Jesus Christ as the ultimate representation of God’s love. Through his life, death and resurrection Jesus was able to overcome the human condition of being fallen from God grace. Humans fell from grace, and their place in the Garden of Eden, through the “original sin”. If a person is able to accept God’s love and recognize its influence in their life, then they too may be able to recover from their fallen state.
Christian doctrine and practices are applicable in every aspect of life and culture. Christ’s teachings are just as relevant in the business world as they are in our own personal lives. Businesses can honor God by observing Christian principles in how they operate. As seen throughout this course, this can be translated into everything from internal operations to budget management to controlling costs. “The Hebrew Bible, especially the Pentateuch (Torah), is replete with precepts that deal with business ethics, and can be used as a starting point for those interested in developing higher moral standards in business.” (Friedman and Giladi, 2002)
Of all the religions I 've studied, I can relate most to Christianity and I believe Christianity encompasses the absolute truth of all things. Christianity makes the most sense to me on a variety of levels. My own personal experience with Christ, the philosophical and scientific answers it provides, the uniqueness of the scriptures, the character of the Old Testament prophets and Jesus, the transforming power I have seen it have on others and the hope it provides are a few of the factors that led me into Christianity. I don 't consider the crux of Christianity to be religion, I think it is a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. I heard one pastor ascribe the mantra of religion as "I obey, therefore, I am accepted" and the mantra of the gospel is "I 'm accepted, therefore, I obey". I also think that nominal Christians have turned many away from the truth of the this faith.
One of the foundations of the Christian faith is the belief that God is actively working in His creation. God did not create the world and leave it to its own fate. Instead, God is still actively involved in every part of His creation today. This belief is crucial for the Christian scientists in today’s world. Ones who study cells and molecules can discover how astounding and detailed God, the Creator, is with this belief in mind.
When encountering a difficult situation, one often engages in the process of moral reflection without even taking conscious note of it. Aana Vigen describes the nature of this process in her work “Conclusion” from the book God, Science, Sex, Gender: An Interdisciplinary Approach to Christian Ethics. The first step in contemplating a moral quandary is to stop and think about what you know, and then question that information (Vigen 242). It is important to keep an open mind during this part of the process, so as to consider other interpretations of the situation that had not been thought of before.
Hello! We welcome you to an Introduction to the Philosophy of Religion. The study of man and the society is incomplete without the study of religion, for it plays a significant role in the development and sustenance human society.
Christianity today stands as the most popular religion in the entire world. Statistically, out of every three people in the world one is Christian. During the time of Christ, roughly 30 AD, are the first examples of Christian worship. The religion spread across the European nations and churches began to spring up both in the West, Romanesque and Gothic, and in the East, Byzantine.
The Christian life is filled with joy, complexity and peace that people can find, even in their darkest of times. Through faith many feel that “we are not our own masters, but belong to God.” (Calvin, 1) The ideals are very straight forward in the sense that we are to provide our bodies to God as a living sacrifice and live by him. We must not conform to the fashion of the world, but be transformed by the renewal of our minds, so
