“A Freudian slip is when you say one thing but mean your mother” (Unknown) The amazing thing with a Freudian slip is how the mind inserts a detail from your subconscious that was not intended to be there however the mouth said another. The depth of the human mind is truly limitless from conception till death the mind is interpreting data and responding to the outcomes of life’s experiences. The sums of these equations make up the details in our conscious and sub conscious minds. Studying the details of our mind and how we interact with the world around us resides Psychology. This method is important type of data analysis. Finally, Experiment Research is use in a controlled setting to be observed, data collected then reviewed. This research has a control group with no variables changed and the rest of the group will have one variable changed, while no subject with in the test will know. The actual Science of Psychology is much defined, to some it may see that psychology is someone sitting on a couch and a Psychologist asking those questions about their life. This may go on aimlessly for an hour at a time visit after visit. Yet even with this scenario there is a very detailed scientific methodology behind the process. These systematic approaches are used to observe, predict, describe and explain what responses may be expected. The basis for this is found in the Scientific Method which utilizes four main steps: 1. Conceptualize the problem 2. Collect research information 3. Analyze data 4. Draw Conclusions. This systematic approach to psychology mimics the same approach many scientists utilize and fields of research around the world today. Building on the concept to generate a theory and testing through research then developing a hypothesis. These steps are how psychologist’s today made many of the new discoveries and advances in their fields of research.
