In 1861, the United States of America observed a split of itself when eleven southern states withdrawn from the union and tried to create the Confederate States of America. The Civil War lasted for four years, from 1861 to 1865. Primarily, this war was fought amongst the people in the northern and southern states of the country. The southern states was led by President Jefferson Davis and the northern states was led by Abraham Lincoln. However, the two main causes that led to the American Civil War was the failure of the Compromise of 1850 and the violence of Bleeding Kansas.
