Terrorism in Iraq
Did you know that in 2014 ISIS controlled more than 34,000 square miles in the middle east? ISIS is a terrorist group that is in Iraq. Iraq is the number one country with the most terrorist groups. ISIS is the number one terrorist group in the Iraq. Malala Yousafzai was shot by a terrorist group from Iraq. 4,000 ISIS members are in Iraq alone. Terrorism in Iraq is a big problem.
ISIS is the number one terrorist group in all of Iraq. The Global Terrorism Index has a list of the most terrorism groupings in the world. Iraq is at the top of the terrorist group population. Iraq is the place with the most deaths because of terrorists and the place with the most terrorist groups including ISIS. They fought under the banner “Al Qaeda in Iraq” They are a Jihadist military group which came from radical Sunni jihadists in Iraq. Iraq is also often called ‘The World Capital of Terrorism’.
Malala Yousafzai was shot by a terrorist group from. She was shot by the Taliban. Another big terrorist group in Iraq. Malala is now a Nobel Peace Prize Winner. She was awarded with the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014. She was on a truck going to school and she was shot in the head. Malala was surprisingly not killed. This happened because she was on her way to school. In Iraq, the girls are not allowed to go to school because of the terrorist. Malala was then sent to Europe to receive the treatment for her injuries, though while she was in Europe, she spread her story, and thanks to all the obstacles she overcame, she was awarded the Sakharov Prize for Freedom
Malala Yousafzai is a women and children activist born in Mingora, Pakistan on July 12th 1997. While growing up, she began advocating for the right to education among girls . Due to her persistence and determination in her activism, on October 9th 2012 Malala was shot on her way home from school by a gunman. She survived the incident and became more passionate towards her fight for education for young females. This incident gave her popularity and in 2013 Malala became nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, which she won in 2014. Malala became the youngest winner of the Nobel Peace Prize (Yousafzai 481). Due to the problems that young females had been facing in Pakistan and worldwide, it was essential to understand her education, the oppression by the Taliban, the devotion towards her religion named Islam and activism on the basis of the novel ‘I Am Malala’.
Kristen Lewis’ article, “Malala the Powerful” was about how a girl as shot in the head by the terrorist group, the Taliban because she was using her voice to stand up and say everyone deserves an education, especially girls. In Pakistan, the religion is strict therefore the Taliban decided to control the government, that made life for women and girls brutal. The Taliban ordered that girls were not allowed to attend school. Malala completely disagreed so she used her voice on the internet incognito to bring awareness about what was happening. Terrorism has been conducted throughout the world on numerous occasions. The groups that perform these actions come from multiple countries from all over the world. The United States even has some forms of terrorist groups and individuals. One of the biggest terrorist attacks was the destruction of the Twin Towers carried out by Al-Qaeda. Also recently there has been attacks in Paris and Great Britain, which were ISIS’s plan. The biggest terrorist organizations include the Taliban, Al-Qaeda and quite recently ISIS. The Taliban was founded in 1994, by Mullah Mohammed Omar, and they kill people in the name of jihad. Al-Qaeda was founded by Osama Bin Laden and also kill for jihad. Finally ISIS was founded recently hand continues to grow rapidly. They kill indiscriminately and how they see fit (Ppcorn, n.d.).
Islamic States of Iraq and Sham ISIS, Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, al Qaeda in Iraq, Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), Islamic State, Da’ish is an active group formed c. 2014. ISIS is a terrorist group that sole purpose is pushing their beliefs on others and if their religion isn’t accepted in the appropriate way (how they expected) they then result to violence. Da’ish is the official name of the terrorist group known as ISIS, dramatically arrived and shocked many people in the West. The horrifying and violent events that have occurred since the appearance if ISIS struck fear into the hearts of people all across the world. Even though fear is an extreme emotion, the hatred that came with it is even stronger and is more Ernest.
ISIS stands for Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. It is referred as a terrorist group by the United States, whereas ISIS considers themselves to be an army instead. ISIS has been responsible for many gruesome attacks all over the world one of them being the execution of Jordanian pilot Moaz al-Kasasbeh. They originated from Al-Qaeda in Iraq but they had big ambitions by kicking America out and setting up an Islamic state. To this date hold their land there unlike other groups like Al-Qaeda and Taliban. They have a huge support from people as their count being over 30,000 soldiers and followers. They are heavily armed, can fund themselves, have an organized infrastructure, and can cause a lot of damage. Later in 2006, their brutality lost them the support of Iraqi Sunnis who partnered with US forces to help push them out of the country. And for this incident, America takes a lot of credit for this and call it the Surge in which they helped Sunnis rise up against Al-Qaeda in Iraq’s rule. This led to Al-Qaeda in Iraq being defeated but not destroyed by only being driven out of the land they used to control and later they began rebuilding themselves by being involved in the fighting in Syria as they were trying to throw the Shiite Assad regime. The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria is a terrorist organization on the United States’ Foreign Terrorist watch list that has been able to successfully recruit both homegrown volunteers who stay with U.S. borders to commit terrorist acts on behalf of the organization, and foreign fighters who leave the United States to join Arms in Syria. Since March of two-thousand and fourteen one hundred and eleven individuals within the United States has been charged with offenses related to ISIS, fifty-eight have pleaded or were found guilty. Malala (Biographyonline, Malala) was a regular Pakistan school girl when the Taliban started enforcing rules and restrictions against women. Women were no longer allowed to listen to music, receive education, or go shopping. If they did, they’d be punished by the Taliban. Malala loved school and refused to cower in fear like the rest of her classmates and community. Malala formed a secret blog with BBC expressing her feelings about how unfair women were being treated.
