Introduction Toyota Motor Corporation was founded by a man named Kiichiro Toyoda in 1937. The company was a spinoff that was created from his father’s company which was named Toyota Industries. This was done so that he could manufacture automobiles. Today Toyota has more than 50 plants in over 25 countries and regions and remains the world’s largest automaker by the amount of cars sold. In 2014 Japanese company sold 10.23 million vehicles allowing them to beat out both Volkswagen and General Motors. Toyota has not always been perfect throughout their long journey. Toyota experienced a large amount of recalls within the United States. After the recalls the President of the company put a stop on the expansion and directed all focus on quality control, worker training and improved proficiency at existing plants. Strengths Toyota is the leader of the green car development. Toyota feels that eco-friendly friendly cars are a requirement for customers. Toyota has moved towards selling hybrid and energy efficient cars is an asset that very few competitors can compete with. Toyota has a brand reputation that is valued at $30 billion. Toyota’s brand has been valued as automotive brand in the world. Toyota is known for its environmentally safe, durable, and friendly cars. Toyota cars are sold in more than 170 countries.
