// Assignment 2 / 4 Favorite Article In Regards to Trends In Technology Article: http://www.digitaltrends.com/cool-tech/jetpack-aviation-jb-10/?utm_source=feedly&utm_medium=webfeeds One of my favorite articles that I found during this school year would be the one that involves the creation of a jetpack, in this case, it would be the JB-10. The JB-10 was not the first jetpack to be created, however in comparison to other jetpacks that had been developed, where the amount of airtime that it allows for is up to 10 minutes, whereas the jetpacks developed multiple years ago would only be able to stay in flight for approximately 1 minute. Not only the flight time is quite amazing in itself, but the fact that it can fly at 70 miles per …show more content…
Also, it could be used in the event of a building on fire, and it would be dangerous for firefighters to pursue through the main / side entrances. The jetpack would enable them to reach a specific floor / location in which they’re able to continue their pursuit for anyone that may be in danger. The use of ladders could be used, but if the height of the building were to be extremely high, then a ladder wouldn’t completely be of use. This concludes why I believe that this article is one my favorites of this school year. // Assignment 3 / 4 Science Fiction Movies and The Present The movie, I, Robot, is one that was released in 2004, set in a very futuristic environment with intelligent robots that had been created. I believe that the appearance of AI robots would have an influence on the current present to some extent, in addition to the future, or at least has some reference to what the future may look like. This would be the case as people are starting to develop artificial intelligence that are able to perform actions that would be of assistance to humans. In the movie, the appearance of prosthetic limbs, which have been developed before the movie, but has significantly advanced in its movement to be similar to humans, as opposed to where that wasn’t exactly the case in the past. In addition to this, voice-activated machinery, and
What this could mean for the future is difficult to say with any surety. However, the more optimistic people like to speculate that robots will become an increasingly important and accepted part of human society. They may rule the world, be like pets, or simply be the backbone of many industries. Whether a more Jetson’s type reality, or a more Terminator type one, there is no doubt that they will be a part of the future.
Do you recall the movie, “I Robot” with Will Smith the actor who plays the neo-luddite character who expresses disdain and dislike for all robots. Well you may have thought this was science fiction but Isaac Asimov, in 1942 published the Three Law of Robotics, which I contend this movie was based off. Asimov’s work has often been cited as “a
How has technology and science changed over time? Over the years technology has advanced and scientist have gotten more accurate and better studies of science and how it has improved. We have found more species over the past three centuries that made scientist want to study more about species and science.
Robots have been useful to humans since the past. They’re made to make human life easier. Since early times people have been dreaming of making robots and different people have made different kinds of robots. Robots has been useful in the past, they’re now useful in present-time, and they’re going to be useful in the future.
In her article “Are Humans Necessary”, Margaret Atwood stated lots of facts and concerns about robots in future.
Technology has changed remarkably over the last one hundred years. First, the way that we use books has changed. Another way is the way we play games. The way we communicate with each other has changed drastically over the last century as well. At this rate, with technology growing every day, we can see the “new” technology that we have right now is already being replaced with something else that is “new.”
(Wikimedia Foundation, 2008) Over two and a half million years ago primitive humanoids began using stones and rocks to butcher dead animals, to date, this was the first known use of technology on earth. Since that time, both we human beings and our technology have evolved. Over the course of history, technology has evolved from stone flakes to a world of space travel and super-computers. The increased availability to information could lead to the development to several necessary and desired advancements in technology over the next ten years that could affect El Arco and the world as well.
A lot of people associate themselves with robots. There are instances where people make robots for a living, or program a type of chip or circuit board that are installed in robots. However, the main reason why we know about robots is because of movies. A lot of movies depict robots as being mechanical creatures that somehow upsets the balance of earth and cause mass destruction, or is depicted as serving their masters. We often think about industrial robots. This is mainly because of industrial plants. We think of them as taking over our jobs. For instance, the movie Wall-e depicts an industrial robot picking garbage. Although humanoids aren’t the first robot thought of, no other type
In this time robots are being worked on to take the job of the older people that can't do the jobs that robot can do and they think that the robots can do more than what us humans can actually. They are almost at the point to wear they can make robots act and look like real humans. WIthin the next few years the robots may walk around and be just like us humans. The robots. parts consist of. I limbs and artificial organs and prosthetics like legs and arms.
One of the biases that are very heard tell a lot about the development of technology and share some information about how robots had been invented to be worrying because they will replace humans. For example in the Article from the news “The Republic”, named “The Year the Robots Came for Our Jobs”, inform that because the development of technology, in the future people, will be replaced by robots. This article says that “Machines’ ability to perform human tasks—physical, intellectual, and emotional—improved dramatically this
After watching the movie I, Robot, I find that many ethical issues come about from the technology shown in the movie. The movie takes place in 2035 and is about robots that are programmed with Three Laws: First Law-A robot must never harm a human being or, through inaction, allow any harm to come to a human; Second Law-A robot must obey the orders given to them by human beings, except where such orders violate the First Law; Third Law- A robot must protect its own existence unless this violates the First or Second Laws. Humans use these robots to do common tasks for them. Some of the ethical questions arisen from this movie include do robots have the ability to make emotional or ethical decision, are they entitled to the same rights as

Technological advancements over the last 40 years continues to amaze people. It was just 16 short years ago, humans worried about Y2K and here we are today, looking for the newest and latest trending gadget. Most consumers first experience with Microsoft was in 1990 with the release of Windows3.0 (Microsoft, 2016). Over the last 25 years Microsoft launched six different operating systems, getting better each and every time with their latest operating system being released in 2015. Windows10 provides users with countless applications and features to include Microsoft’s latest development of their HoloLens. Microsoft’s advancements have made desktops, laptops, gaming consoles, cell phones, and tablets affordable for everyone. In 2013,
With the current global advancements in technology, organizations have been left with no choice, other than joining the revolution and providing digital content for the public. In the same spirit, Housing Works has invested in the online platform, through the creation of the website, www.housingworks.org. Through the site, it is able to communicate its mission, purpose and vision, and then welcome the public to contact them with their feedback. The following are the means used by the website to communicate with the public:
Over the next 10 years, we will see a change in technology, and the Internet. Things will continue to progress, and fundamental changes will easily be defined. Technologies have revolutionized how people spread and consume information; these changes will redefine who we are as consumers, merchants, and individuals. With the expansion of computers and the Internet connectivity, people are able to share more of their lives with family and friends. Technology has offered the world so many different services, which include emailing, instant messaging, search engines, blogs, and Wikipedia. These services have changed the way we communicate with others, our knowledge, and the way we conduct business. With the increasing usage of the Internet, developers continue to find ways to improve technology and the way we utilize the Internet. Technology has a wide range of different aspects and concepts, which includes protocols. There has to be rules, and objectives in any and everything we do, and protocols governs communications, errors, detections, messages, and speed. There are three technology concepts behind the Internet, and they are packet switching, Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) communications
