Introduction
P6: This report describes the influence of political, legal and social factors on the activities of Coca-Cola Enterprises Ltd and Croydon Health Services NHS. The report also identifies how the aforementioned factors may affect its stakeholders.
All businesses will be affected by factors in its environment. The following are the 3 main factors affecting businesses;
1. Social Factors
Social factors refer to the changes in the lifestyle, behavior, attitudes and tastes of different societies. Social factors may affect the two businesses in the following ways:

The consumer protection laws are of great advantage to customers as they enable fair treatment and good value to customers.
•Competition Laws
The Office of Fair Trading monitors and ensures that all businesses are at even level with consumers. The law protects a business from being demoted by its competitors.
For example, when Coca- Cola Enterprises Ltd advertises a beverage the company is not to say, “PepsiCo is a waste of money” but is allowed to say, “Coca- Cola reaches the top.” This legislation would limit the market planning of the company.
Competition laws will also be an advantage to customers as they would prevent misleading claims from businesses.

•Health and Safety Law
The law obligates Croydon Health Services NHS to ensure that employees, patients, and so forth are to be provided a safe environment at all times.
Being in the health sector makes the law very important for the running of the organisation. Hospitals are the centre of epidemics and diseases which makes this law very important in the operation of the organisation. Therefore, the organisation has installed equipment that maintains the hygiene of its hospitals.
The law also obliges the organisation to provide health and safety information and equipment to staff and patients.

Social and economic factors are something that will arise in all businesses no matter how its organization might be structured. While some social and economic factors might be able to be evaded, depending on the business, there are some that are unavoidable. It is imperative that you make the effort to get familiar as possible with social factors as well as economic factors because these are key aspects that will affect a business. Before I start work, I ensure that the environment is spacious to avoid any accidents. By ensuring that the floor is dry and clear of any obstruction or material that could result to risk of an accident to both the service user and member of staff in line with Health and Safety first Aids Regulations 1987. I carry out checks on the residential areas and on the surroundings, fire checks and parked the wheelchairs and Zimmer frames in their appropriate places to avoid any accidents. I check to see that all doors and windows were locked and secured and areas are hazard

It was created to ensure that there were no businesses that were anticompetitive; meaning that there wasn’t one company or business that was creating a monopoly. The FTC has three main goals; they are to protect consumers, maintain competition, and advance performance. They protect the consumers by preventing fraud and making sure businesses are fair in the marketplace. They maintain competition by preventing companies from merging together and creating a monopoly. Finally, they advance performance by advancing the FTC’s performance through organizational, personal, and management excellence. The FTC is very beneficial, and although not everybody knows about it, as a consumer it helps with the economy of every American. health and safety procedures and practises should be under continual scrutiny and areas for improvement should be monitored and dealt with. A good method of monitoring & improving are health, safety and security procedures are visually. Check visitors have signed in the visitor’s book, look for items blocking fire exits or hallways, wet signs are in place during cleaning, COSHH cupboards are kept locked, medication trolleys are secure, hoists are clean and stored in a correct storage place. Policies and procedures need to be reviewed regularly to ensure they are still relevant, circumstances in workplace can change and new risk assessments will need to be put in place or old ones reviewed.
