P3 – in this task I will be planning my campaign and explain the reasons for the approaches, methods and models of behaviour change. This task will include SMART targets and planned approaches to education, I will be stating what models of behaviour change I will be using and also include who my audience is and what resources I will use and any cost incurred.
The campaign we will be presenting is about obesity. In Sandwell, especially Smethwick; the number of children who are considered obese is 893 and the local value for this number is 25.9 where the England average is 19.0 and England’s worst is 26.5 ( as you can see the Sandwell figure is very close to England’s worst). These children are much more likely to develop health problems

Our aims and objectives can be achieved, because as you can see through talking about obesity, its causes, short and long term effects and its prevention, we will be able to achieve the aims and objectives. For example; one of our aims is to promote outdoor physical activities, if the year seven pupil is obese and want to be healthier, one factor of becoming healthier is through movement and taking part in an activity that would burn off the fat, and outdoor physical activities such as football or running is one of those activities that would help get rid of the fat, therefore its is more likely that the student would be participating in outdoor physical activities. Through this one of our objectives is achieved.
The sessions we have picked to present to the pupils as well as the aims and objectives are very realistic because they would be able to send across the message that we’re trying to teach. For instance; the sessions include a questionnaire to identify how much they already know, a presentation that will be the main source of information about obesity and then another questionnaire that will determine how much they have learnt from the campaign. We will not be asking complex questions in the questionnaires as the form group will consist of mixed abilities, also the presentation has a number of pictures shown on it that relates to the subject of obesity and in the presentation they will be shown two different videos that are

Farburn et al (2002) suggests that “the prevalence of obesity and its physiological and psychological complications is increasing among children and adults. These findings emphasize the need for effective prevention and treatment programs. Public health policies and strategies are implemented to meet targets to tackle health issues and socioeconomic problems (Lydia Balsdon, 2009). The House of Commons Health Select Committee (HSC 2004) foreseen the rise in health-care costs related to obesityas the figures are predicted to double by 2050, the estimated cost in 2002 was around £3340-3724 million. Obesity usually relates to limitations in mobility, which results in challenges with daily activities and affecting the quality of life and preventing individuals from finding employability. Health and psychological complications from obesity and related diseases impact the health and social care cost as individuals have high sickness and absence levels from work, which results in low productivity and enforces costs on industries.(McCormick et al, 2007). The government addresses the national strategies in tackling and reducing the obesity figures in the UK. (DH, 2005b). The National Institute for Clinical Excellence (2013) declared that from April 2013, the local government took on a widespread concern for public health within
Explain two models of behaviour change that have been used in recent national health education campaigns.
Disability- many people suffer from discrimination when they have a disability. This is because they are different from others and can not physically do the things others can. This leaves them left out, not been able to socialize and feeling upset. For example if there was a man in a wheel chair in an office with his work colleges and everyone ignored him because he was different this would be discrimination.
Your GP can assess whether you have incontinence, decide which type of incontinence you have, give general advice on controlling symptoms of incontinence, provide information on pelvic floor exercises and bladder retraining, and give treatment for incontinence with prescribed medicines. If lifestyle changes and treatments don't solve the problem, your GP can refer you to a continence adviser or specialist.
Over the year both positive and negative influences have influenced my learning. The skill I have developed for learning is my aspiration is to become a midwife, this influences my learning in the way that it gives me the hunger to learn new things and improve my knowledge and grades. By improving my knowledge I will be able to go onto the next stage of my development. I believe that if I did not have such a desire to be a midwife, it would affect my learning by creating a mental blockage which would stop my ability to take things in and learn as I would become lazy and not interested from the lack of direction in my life. As soon as I realised what I wanted to do as a career, it really highlighted my priorities and I found that I have

Honesty is something I value in another person, and I have struggled with service users who haven’t been honest about something. I have tried hard to understand the reasons why someone would not be honest with me. Usually after I have spoken to another member of staff, and heard their input and theories I can begin to see why and move on from the incident.
In this task I will discuss the application/part of behaviorist perspectives in health and social care.

Health Committee, 2015). However, according to Astrup (2016) the strategy fails to include the two measures, which Public Health England (PHE) stated, would have the greatest influence on the childhood obesity epidemic. This suggests poor credibility, as inadequate response to the recommendations may lead to higher obesity rates. This means more strain to the NHS will build up as children are at greater risk of obesity. (REF)
