The University of Evansville, my home for the next four years. I believe this university is the perfect home for me to continue my academic career. There are so many great qualities about this school. The first quality that drew me in, is how hands on the teachers and administrators are with their students. I feel the staff will be able to give me the push I need to follow my dreams of becoming a nurse or occupational therapist. Before I was accepted to this University back in 2012, my school took us on a trip to visit the school. When we arrived on the bus I was so excited. When I stepped off the bus, I knew that this school was made for me. The way the school looked to the way they operated fit me. The operation of the school is very easy to learn and easy to adapt to. The operation included easy access to counselors for first year students as well as transfer students. This is very helpful for the students who are new to school and do not have anyone to show them around, like I did not. I also loved the way they had Freshman’s in particular dorms

When people hear the word “college”, many panic inside at the thought. But, when I hear the word “college” I think about Illinois State University. In early July, I attended an Open House at ISU for my very first official college visit. As I stepped onto campus, I couldn’t but help to feel like it was my future home. Many aspects of the tour made me draw nearer to choosing this college after finishing my High School career. Illinois State University seems to fit my personality very well, has an amazing program for what I want to study, and is an outstanding campus for my academic strengths and weaknesses.

The University of North Carolina Wilmington gives a welcoming and home-like feeling to all who attend. Once I step foot on campus, it reminds me of the privilege I have of staying home. It has always been the college I've wanted to attend. The small and diverse community is what keeps me here in Wilmington, North Carolina and UNCW fulfills my dreams of not leaving. I find the mixture of races and gender to be essential in a community or school. It defines a person including their culture and allows everyone to be different from one another. It proves that we can all get along and work together to create greater changes as a whole; UNCW has that variety. However, not only does the diverse environment attract me, but so does the beautiful campus.

I am applying to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, because it is a large school with outstanding credentials, with a strong community and lots of school spirit. This is exactly what I am looking for for in my college environment. I want a large school population where I can meet new people every day, get involved in many activities, and where I can make connections and build relationships with my professors. I also look forward to living in snow again - I moved from Denmark to California a few years ago, and I miss the winter weather!

While searching for colleges, I was looking for what all students ask for, a university with top notch academics and a social life; and I have come to discover that the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point is the embodiment of such an institution. After doing an abundance of research, I am fully confident that your university is the perfect match for me, not just because of the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point’s qualities, but also the fact that I believe that I will flourish as a student and that my characteristics will enhance your school.

In my opinion, UW-Green Bay is a perfect fit for me because of my personal skills and traits. I have always been a natural leader among my peers, and I have always been willing to help anyone in need. I respect every person I see with the same respect that I would prefer back, and I never give up when times get tough. I love both watching and playing athletics, meeting new people and creating new relationships, and thinking critically when problems ever arise. While I have many interesting favorites, they tend to be ever undulating between the next big thing and the classics. By the time I submit this essay I am almost certain that at least three of my current answers will change. As the University of Chicago pays tribute to its past essays for its 125th anniversary, in the spirit of tradition I will pay tribute to my past favorites, as they are set in stone.

Most importantly, University of Wisconsin-Madison appeals to me for its diversity of ways to learn. I am intrigued by First-Year Interest Groups(FIGs), Service Learning, the math department and the UW-Madison Software Development Club. The First-Year Interest Groups encourage the exploration of common themes, which has become a course in our high school, called colloquy. In colloquy, we have to read lots of materials about a certain social issue, discuss the issue, and write an essay about it. The process of exploring things beyond the border of subjects has always excited me, and I really want to continue such explorations in college. Different from colloquy, however, the First-Year Interest Groups provide unique views on the themes as participants are from different cultures. The University of Chicago would be the ideal university to explore my interests. Chicago is one of the most resilient cities in the country, which causes the members of its community to be as strong. One of my favorite stories is about the rebuild after the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. After a two day conflagration the city was decimated, but instead of being defeated, they took the destruction as an opportunity to rebuild. Chicago was revitalized into an improved city. The University of Chicago’s mascot, Phil the Phoenix, perfectly represents the endurance of the city, which is a legacy I want to be part of and contribute to.

The programs offered at UCR excel at providing freshmen with a strong foundation that will benefit them throughout their years at UCR. I want to be at a university where I will be encouraged and provided with a foundation to succeed; I am certain that UCR will provide that. Lastly, the aspect that makes UCR an outstanding university for me is that it is a dry and Tabaco-free campus. I have been a witness of how alcohol can deter someone from achieving their dreams; my father was an alcoholic for many years.
