• What do you believe is your greatest strength and why? My greatest strength in life is my high moral values and standards. I believe I can make the right decisions that will best benefit my life and the lives around me. Being able to make the right decisions in life will really help me be successful in the work world. I believe having the values also gives me a great outlook on life itself. • What do you believe is your greatest weakness and what steps are you taking to overcome this? I believe my greatest weakness or weaknesses are public speaking and approaching new people. My steps in trying to overcome my weakness of public speaking is to put myself in situations where to succeed I need to be able to speak in a public setting. The steps I am taking to overcome my other weakness, which is meeting new people, are similar to those of how I am overcoming my weakness of public speaking. I have been working on this weakness a lot lately due to the fact that I will have to meet a lot of new people at college next year. I have been putting myself in a place where I can …show more content…
My cousin was under the influence of alcohol while driving his motorcycle late in the night. This event really changed my outlook on how I would live my life even though I was still in middle school at the time. I never really got to spend a lot of quality time with him and I wish I could have. Even though he was in the Marines and always gone in the years prior to the accident I wish I would have at least called him on the phone and just talked. This all made me realize I was going to spend as much time as I could with the people I love because I never wanted to feel that feeling again. It also developed a promise to myself that I would never drink and put myself in harms way because I saw how his death really impacted my families lives after the accident and even still to this
Three of my greatest strengths, which I also perceive as my abilities, are patience, empathy, and determination. From a young age, these characteristics allowed me to mentor and support my aunt when she was most vulnerable. Additionally, I utilized these traits as a backbone throughout my high school years and undergraduate time. At home, I am the oldest and only girl of four younger brothers, ages ranging from 4-to-12. During high school, I worked part-time, held positions on school 's clubs, volunteered through agencies and assisted my brothers with homework and dropped them to school every morning. I effectively sustained each position because I naturally cared about everyone around me, was determined to be independent, stay active in my community and obtain an education. Reflecting back, I am confident that these traits have landed me to this academic year, which I am grateful to encounter. My ability to be empathetic will provide authenticity to my professional communication style, and strengthen my interpersonal relationships. On the other hand, my strength of patience will guide me as I develop an all-inclusive skill of cultural competence. With determination, I see myself endeavoring to help clients by precisely selecting interventions or treatments that focus on each client 's situation and consistently pursuing opportunities to educate myself as a professional.
One weakness I have is, help to much but I enjoy helping out people, it makes me feel great. Another weakness I have is, that i am to determined in work assigned to me.
My weaknesses Public Speaking, but I took a speech class I learned that you it isn't that bad, also with my job experiences I've learned it's okay. Sometimes my time can be a weakness i spend too much time with a resident so it makes me a little behind, but I’ve learned to use time more
These past three weeks have been a huge learning experience for me. Not only have I learned how an outpatient center operates, but I have also learned about my own strengths and weaknesses in performing an exam on a patient as well. I have discovered that my strengths are marker placement, my knowledge of anatomy, and patient care. I have also found areas that are my weaknesses, positioning for a y-shoulder is a bit tricky for me, I lack confidence when performing exams, and shielding. Learning these areas that are my strong and weak points has been an eye-opener for me, and finding ways to build my weaknesses up into strengths has been a challenge. I am, however, up for that challenge.
My weaknesses are flaws in my personality and hinder my abilities, which could complicate my relationships with others. One of my weaknesses is that I am somewhat judgemental. I expect others to do their best job, and I can be quick to judge them when they don't meet my expectations. For example, at work, paperwork is not filled in correctly, and daily tasks not achieved. I can also be judgemental with myself as in with this course i often think have i achieved the best of my ability. Another of my weaknesses is my non-verbal communication. For example in my
Just as I have my strengths, I also have my weak areas that I know I need to improve. Some of these areas include my lack of leadership, slow progress in groups, being late for group discussions and meetings and being easily distracted by things outside the group.
One weakness that I have as a student is studying. Studying is an important aspect of being a student. It helps one to prepare for tests, quizzes, and projects. I have always had trouble with studying. For example, when I took Honors United States History II, I had many difficult tests that I had to take. Specifically, one was about the Vietnam War. My teacher had made a simple study guide of terms for the test. I thought nothing of it and came to class the day of the test with the piece of paper blank. On the other hand, a few classmates had filled out the entire worksheet. I received a failing grade, while those who studied passed. It was discouraging to get a bad grade and have my grade in the class drop by a few points. To help my studying habits, I try to think of different ways to study that will help me better. I plan on studying using flashcards, apps, and visuals. These ways of studying will keep my attention, but also continue preparing me for assessments.
Everyone can have strengths and challenges and sometimes you can’t note it unless someone told you about it. When you know what is your personal strengths and weaknesses it can help to make a good decisions. Some it can be easy for you not for everyone else. When you find your own strength think about it when it comes easy for you, so what are my strengths and challenges and how I overcome it.
While it is hard for me to acknowledge and talk about my strengths, I know that I have them because God gives us strengths and talents. He gives them to us so that we can use them to foster a good place for humanity and to strive to follow His footsteps. One of the strengths that I believe I have is that I engage in sacred trust. This is because I consider myself a trustworthy person. If someone tells me something, I will maintain confidentiality and keep that between us. This is because I believe that trust is something that can be easily broken and it is always best to aim always to keep that trust with someone. Exhibiting trust to others is a value that I live by. I know that many people suffer from distrust and I want to let them know that there are people that they can trust and that will listen to them with a truly open heart. Another strength that I believe I have is that I am kind. The reason that I believe this is because I really do think that I use my
Many people throughout generations in America have been raised to focus on their weaknesses instead of their strengths; I was one of those people. After taking general psychology, I was always interested in further learning about myself through highly developed tests, like StrengthsQuest, and was very excited when I got the opportunity to take one. My strengths from the test are Analytical, Futuristic, Relator, Individualization, and Responsibility.
“Building on strengths and strengthening weaknesses are good strategies for developing careers. Interests are strengths, particularly when talent is associated with the interests. But hard work is always required to achieve competitive performance” (Williams, 1993) Working on these assignments have caused a chain reaction of taking the correct next steps on purpose. Having attended several colleges as an online student, I have never partaken in a course that is designed to create a successful student. Being this course was the first course that I have taken with Southern New Hampshire University, I am more confident than ever with completing these last nine courses to complete my degree in General Studies Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Business Administration. The path of this course has caused me to be very deliberate about my future. This course has also given me the permission to constantly stay in engaged communication with my advisor. Speaking once or twice a week to review my next steps to ensure everything is the right fit. Documenting my strengths and weakness to define the correlation of my educational plan while completing the bachelor’s degree program awakening insight on how to improve my opportunities for success.
“What is your greatest weakness?” One of my greatest weaknesses is hard to describe. Whenever I get left out of things I seem to get jealous and text the people or the person that hosted the party/event and I seem to get overwhelmed and start to send some nasty things to them. Some of the things I would always say were not very nice. I would always say that they weren’t my friend anymore or stuff like that. I don’t do this anymore because it doesn’t get to me like it use to. I still get a little jealous but I don’t make a big scene and cause drama. I would always use to cause drama and now I don’t let the jealousy get to me like it use to.
Around third term in Mrs.Ness’s class. “Lafreda can I talk to you for a moment?” She pulled me aside from the classroom while other students concentrated on worksheets and book work until the end of the bell. “I just wanted to tell you that your work is outstanding!” Her eyes were full of encouragement, she implied one day that If I was looking for a job she'd hire me, with no hesitation. “Thank you!” I say with a wide and enthusiastic smile on my face.“You have a bright future ahead of you and it shows how mature you are due to all of the things you been through over the course of the past year you're still here striving! I want to recommend you to student of the month!” Those simple words she spoke to me had given me a slight tingle down my spine. At that very moment I felt as if I could Succeed and prosper against anything that was to stand in the way of me reaching my goal.
A weakness I've struggled with is speaking in large crowds which if you think about it is a great opportunity! I have the chance to practice this is class when I present large projects. I've improved on speaking in large groups everytime I present a larger project.
Like any individual I have a wealth of weaknesses and strengths. This is the unique mixture that
