Bangor Family Physicians is a partner based medical group practice located in Maine. The practice consists of four family practice physicians, and a medical support staff. The medical support staff is made up of a practice manager, two receptionists, four nurses, two medical assistants, two billing clerks, and a laboratory technician. Additionally, Bangor Family Physicians employs a CPA to assist with taxes and financial advising. The key stakeholders are the four family physician partners, in which each physician holds an equal stake in the practice.

This medical facility is one that is near and dear to me. Not only is this medical facility considered one of the best in treating cancer, but they are renowned for their medical advances in with many diseases. There is one wing of the hospital that I would love to advocate in; the Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolism Center. Jones Regional Medical Center is a huge academic health center with 900 beds and are known for its research and teaching hospitals. Additionally, the IT staff at Jones supports 300 applications and 12,000 workstations. The center uses Technology Med (TechMed) for their admitting system. The system includes registration, inpatient charge, payment entry, master patient index, admission, hospital billing, and more. The TechMed system has been accessible since 1998; Jones is beginning to plan a replacement of this systems because of the fragility of the software (Wager, 2013).
