Expert Solution
Step 1What is botulism.

Botulism is a lethal disease caused by the infection of a potent neurotoxin which is produced during growth of the C. botulinum bacteria. This neurotoxin is actually known to be  the most toxic substances known; even the microscopic amounts of ingestion can cause illness or deaths. When the food is eaten, containing the toxin, it basically disrupts nerve function, causing paralysis

The food:

Botulism was known to be  linked primarily to home-canned foods and even now  botulism illnesses have been caused due  to foods such as unrefrigerated homemade salads, baked potatoes sealed in aluminum foil, even honey  which is the primary cause of botulism in infants, sometimes  garlic in oil, and most importantly  traditionally prepared salted or fermented fish is the prime cause of botulism
