The formula for class width is as follows:
Class width = Difference between any two consecutive Upper/ Lower class limit
The formula for Midpoint is as follows:
Midpoint = (Lower Limit + Upper Limit)/2
To identify the class boundaries, find the gap between two classes as follows:
Gap = Lower limit of second class – Upper limit of first class
Then divide the gap by 2.
That is, (1,515 – 1,414)/2 = 50.5.
Minus 50.5 from lower limit of each class and add 50.5 in each upper limit to get class boundaries.
