By the end of the Krebs cycle, glucose is completely oxidized, with most of its chemic
energy already transferred to molecules of ATP, NADH, and FADH2.The cell, however, can or
use ATP (not NADH and FADH2) as a direct energy source. The other two molecules, therefc
give up the electrons that they carry to an ETC located in the inner mitochondrial membran-
eukaryocytes and in the cell membrane of prokaryocytes. Through this ETC, the energy car
by NADH and FADH2 are transferred to ATP and thus, becomes useful to the cell.
