Lab: Write a file copying
In the sample run, “add.py” is the source file and “add-copy.py” is the destination file. Note that both “add-copy.py” is identical to “add.py” because “add-copy.py” is a copy of “add.py”.
Sample run:
Enter file to copy from: add.py Enter file to copy to : add-copy.py Copy is successful. |
Source file: add.py
print("This program adds two numbers")
a = int(input("Enter first number: ")) b = int(input("Enter second number: "))
print(f"{a} + {b} = {a+b}") |
Destination file: add-copy.py
print("This program adds two numbers")
a = int(input("Enter first number: ")) b = int(input("Enter second number: "))
print(f"{a} + {b} = {a+b}") |

- In C++, Write a program that reads a set of 20 integers from a file and outputs the sum of the even and odd integers separately.arrow_forwardUse Java programarrow_forwardThis is a C++ program, to be done in a .cpp file Problem Statement: Write rules for the user on how to play the game in a text file. Then, create a program that will read in the text file and display it out to the user. LCR Game Rules: The Dice● There are three dice rolled each turn. Each die has the letters L, C, and R on it along with dots on the remaining three sides. These dice determine where the player’s chips will go.○ For each L, the player must pass one chip to the player sitting to the left.○ For each R, the player must pass one chip to the player sitting to the right.○ For each C, the player must place one chip into the center pot and those chips are now out of play.○ Dots are neutral and require no action to be taken for that die.The Chips● Each player will start with three chips.● If a player only has one chip, he/she rolls only one die. If a player has two chips left, he/she rolls two dice. Once a player is out of chips, he/she is still in the game (as he/she may get…arrow_forward
- write java programarrow_forwardPLEASE ASK THE USER IF THEY WOULD LIKE TO WRITE INTO THE FILE IF THEY CHOOSE NOT TO DELETE THE FILE, AND WRITE IT INTO THE FILE Write a complete java program that: asks the user for a filename tests whether the file exists and tells the user if it does exist ask the user whether it should be deleted. Either delete or do not delete the file based on the user input. If they don't delete it, ask them if they would like to write to the file If they want to write, ask what they want to write to the file and write it. Make sure to provide plenty of console output dialog specifying what status/actions are taken at each step.arrow_forwardcan you do it pythonarrow_forward
- Write a C++ program using classes that readslines from a file until the end of file. The program should prompt the user for the file name to read from. The program should open the file for reading, and if the filecannot be opened, print the message “File couldn’t be opened”, followed by a space and the filename, and exit. The program should keep track of the number of lines, the number of non-blank lines, the number of words, and the number of integers read from the file.arrow_forwardPlease use Replit to complete in C programming language. PLEASE FOLLOW guidelines CLOSELY AND SHOW OUTPUTSarrow_forwardAnswer the given question with a proper explanation and step-by-step solution. 1- Write code that does the following: opens an output file with the filename number_list.txt, uses a loop to write the numbers 1 through 100 to the file, then closes the file.arrow_forward
- Summary In this lab, you write a while loop that uses a sentinel value to control a loop in a Python program. You also write the statements that make up the body of the loop. Each theater patron enters a value from 0 to 4 indicating the number of stars that the patron awards to the Guide’s featured movie of the week. The program executes continuously until the theater manager enters a negative number to quit. Instructions Make sure the file MovieGuide.py is selected and open. Write thewhile loop using a sentinel value to control the loop, and also write the statements that make up the body of the loop. Execute the program by clicking the Run button at the bottom of the screen. Input the following as star ratings: 0, 3, 4, 4, 1, 1, 2, -1 must be written with this code: """ MovieGuide.py This program allows each theater patron to enter a value from 0 to 4 indicating the number of stars that the patron awards to the Guide's featured movie of the week. Invalid choice. Re-enter: If the user selects any valid choice other than Quit, the program prompts the user to enter the file name, Enter input file name: then reads the content of the file and prints the value requested (highest value, lowest value or average value). Highest value is 0 Lowest value is 0 Average value is 0 If the file cannot be opened or is empty, the program should display the message: File empty or could not open file Then the program displays the menu again. If the user selects Quit, the program prints “Exiting” and terminates. Additional requirements – Make sure you meet all the requirements You are not allowed to use arrays You are…arrow_forwardMake a C program that gets a source file name from a user. If the file does not exist, it will generate a proper error and exits. If the file exists, it also gets the name of two more files from the user, say destination1 and destination2. These files don't need to exist as they are files that need to be written to. If the files cannot be opened for writing, a proper error will be generated. The program then reads the source file line by line. It will copy every line that has a digit in it to destination 2 and lines that have no digit in them to destination 1. Feel free to use ctype's isdigit() function to identify digit characters. Example: If source file is: Hi My name is Veria Hello My name is John. How can I help you? I have a problem with my giga bit internet. The speed should be around 1000 but it's just 200 Sure! I can help with that. Can I have your number in case we get disconnected? Sure! My number's 647-123-1234 First file (destination 1) should be Hi My name is…arrow_forward
