What are the units of volume? Suppose another student tells you that a cylinder of radius r and height h has volume given by πr^3 h. Explain why this cannot be right.
A student wanted to calculate the radius, r, of the base of a spherical cylinder. The student measured both the volume of the cylinder and its height and obtained the following: Volume, V = (92± 1) cm^3 . Height, h = (11.5 ± 0.1) cm. V = π * (r^2) * h. Calculate the radius of the base of the cylinder.
Where r is the radius of the sphere and pi = 3.14. If you measure the radius of a bowling ball to be r = 5 in, what is the volume in SI units?
