• Epithelial tissue:
It consists of tightly packed cells that cover the internal and external surfaces of the body. For example skin.
• Connective tissue:
It consists of cells scattered within an external matrix. It binds and supports other tissues and organs present in the body. For example, bone, cartilage, and blood.
• Muscle tissue:
It consists of muscle cells that can contract or shorten. For example, skeletal muscles (voluntary movements), smooth muscles (internal organs and blood vessels), and cardiac muscles (heartbeat).
• Nervous tissue:
It is involved in transmitting information from one place to another in the body. For example, brain, spinal cord, and nerves.
