Concept introduction:
The citric acid cycle is an important part of the aerobic respiration that takes place inside the mitochondria of animal cells. Glyoxylate cycle is unique to plants and it takes place inside the glyoxysomes of the plant cells.
The acetyl CoA is used for the synthesis of carbohydrates in some bacteria and plants but it cannot be utilized to produce carbohydrates in animals.
