When driving on the upper level of the Bay Bridge, west-bound from Oakland to San Francisco, you can easily pick up a number of radio stations on your car radio. But when driving cast-bound on the lower level of the bridge, which has steel girders on either side to support the upper level, the radio reception is much worse. Why is there a difference?
