Summary Introduction

To explain: In general, the ways in which skeletal muscles produce movement.

Introduction: In an adult, 40 to 50% of the body weight is contributed by skeletal muscles. It is primarily attached to the skeleton of the body but also found at the opening of urinary tracts and gastrointestinal tracts.

Explanation of Solution

Skeletal muscles are mainly attached to the bones in groups or in pairs. These muscles help in movement of bones around joints by creating contraction and relaxation of muscles. Contraction of muscles that are attached to the bones produce large movements involved in localized movement and running.
