Let's pretend you own a successful landscaping company with hundreds of regular clients in your neighborhood. To set up your customer relationship management system, you must first decide what information to collect from your customers. Is there a way to improve service or make money with this information?

When does the presence of a plethora of different types of information systems become problematic in the workplace? Where do we go from here, and what can be done to address these problems?

The organization is interested in the following attributes for all of these persons: SSN, name, address, city/state/zip, date of birth and telephone number. For each employee, date of hiring is needed while for the volunteers, their skill is also gathered.
