The temperature was reported to be 30C during measurement.  The difference in elevation between A and B is 3m.  Answer this problem in the following order: a.  Write or list down the quantities along with their values given in the problem.  b.  Enumerate the errors that can be eliminated or reduced so that distance AB be corrected.  c.  From b,  compute their total error for one tape length.  d.  From b,  compute  their total individual error for line AB.  e.  Compute the corrected length of line AB.

Question 40 A T-shaped built up steel beam is composed of 170 mm x 10 mm flange plate at top and a vertical web plate 260 mm x 17 mm. All plates used are A36 steel. Calculate the location of the horizontal plastic neutral axis measured from the top edge of the flange. Final answer should be mm with 2 decimal places.
