Final Data Analysis project 85 points DUE DATE December 19 th , 2023 NO Late submission will be accepted. SUBMIT TO ASSIGNMENT ON CANVAS NO HANDWRITTEN WORK. ALL WORK SHOULD BE TYPED. THE project must have your Name, RUID # and a picture of your photo ID on the first page. All pages should be numbered. For the entire project use EXCEL or Minitab or any technology of your choice. Attach output for each Part. Failure to attach output will result in a zero for that part. For the assigned 4 makes, using all the models for those makes, do the data analysis. Your submission must include your data for the 4 makes. I A 1. Calculate Descriptive statistics for Acc030 for each of the four makes. 4 2. Obtain box plot for Acc030 for each of the 4 makes and comment. 6 I B 1. Pie chart on Lowest price by make. 4 2. Bar graph on Highest Price by make. 4 II. Calculate 99% confidence interval for the average Highway Mileage for the 4 makes combined. A. Display full descriptive statistics. 4 B. Obtain the normal probability plot . Is it normally distributed? 5 C. Obtain the 99 % confidence interval for the average Highway Mileage. 4 D. Interpret the Confidence Interval in terms of the problem. 2 III . Sort by wheelbase by less than 111 and >= 111 Compare mean diameter needed for U turn, for the sorted data, using test of hypothesis for comparing the two means. Test whether the means are unequal. Use alpha =0.01. Use appropriate test for comparing two means. A. State the Null and Alternate Hypothesis, 2 B. Explain why the test you used is appropriate for the problem. 3 C. Obtain the normal probability plot. Individual plot for each sample. Are the two populations normally distributed? Yes or No. State clearly. 4 D. Write your conclusion based on the result you obtain. 3
IV. Correlation: A. Choose 2 continuous variables in your data. 2 B. Plot one combined scatter diagram reflecting the 4 makes using the 2 continuous variable 5 C. Calculate the correlation and Comment on the correlation. 5 V . Regression Analysis: a. Choose one independent variable and a dependent variable. ( You can choose the same two variables used in part IV). 2 b. Obtain regression equation. 3 c. Assume a value of X within the range of the data and predict the Y hat using the Regression Equation. 2 d. Calculate R2 and interpret 3 f. Test whether variable x is useful in predicting Y (i). Write down the Null and Alternate hypothesis 1 (ii) t statistic. 1 f. what is the P value? 1 g. Summary: 2 VI Comparing Mean City mileage for 4 makes. ( Use ANOVA for comparison) Conduct Multiple comparisons ( if required) 1. Set up Null and Alternate Hypothesis. 2 2. Do the ANOVA test, use alpha = 0.10 7 3. Write down the F statistic. 2 4. Summarize your result. 2
Columns are in order as follows started with the above mentioned variables represented each set of data starting on the right; Make, Model, Type, Lowprice … QrtMile, PageNum, Size.
