The oil sands industry works closely with Indigenous peoples in support of economic security and well-being in their communities . The industry also provides significant opportunities for Indigenous- owned businesses, entrepreneurs, and individual community members to supply goods and services to oil sands companies. 2)What are people protesting against? The people protested the Frontier oilsands project, which is proposed by Teck Resources Ltd, Vancouver. Indigenous people are against the Alberta oil sands. Oil sands damaged the environment, planet and people territory even it impacts on health of the local people not only this but it also damages woodland buffalo and wild whooping cranes. Greenpeace Canada According to the Greenpeace, today the tar oil sand is heavy, and it is difficulty to extract, even more water energy is required to refine the oils which directly or indirectly affects to the health of the people who are working which may sometime leads to a death and along with this environment face lot of problems as it gets disturb even the resources and animals get affected. So, this are many reasons why many groups are against the oil sands. 5)What do you know about “a long-term sustainability Long-term sustainability refers to continuously maintaining or supporting a process over time. In business, sustainability prevents the exploitation of natural and physical resources, ensuring long-term survival while ensuring economic, social, and environmental stability. Economical sustainability is conserving resources that provide physical inputs for economic production, and social sustainability is the ability of societies to thrive and continue to exist in a healthy, fair, and equal way.
