Collaboration Matrix Research and describe benefits and challenges of the collaboration characteristics below. Describe one concrete collaborative experience involving the collaborative characteristic that could take place between the general education teacher and special education teacher to benefit students who have disabilities. Collaboration Characteristics Benefits Challenges Collaborative Experience Example Provide resource if applicable Shared Resources Shared Resources collaboration can benefit to the student in the way where they have equal access to resources that are there to support reaching the shared goal. Can provided student with crucial knowledge to specialized techniques that are given by a certain persons or resource which really benefit the student academic learning. The challenges of doing shared resources is that it not alway available when needed. It could be due to scheduling or even how many can be provided at a time to so many student. The sadly a end to a resources where there only so many or even so many people that can support certain specialized techniques or connection to individuals or agencies. Shared resources would look like the teacher and special education teacher would collaborate schedules or even availability of student or resources. For a student who need speech therapy and need to miss some class. Both parties would need to discuss what would work best but also under the specialist teacher available time as well. Shared Accountability for Outcomes
Shared accountability for outcomes collaboration would be beneficial for teachers because all teachers are held accountable for the outcome. The challenges of shared accountability of the outcomes collaboration is that it requires to be depending on other people. Some time people fall though or can be there for the meeting which mean valuable information is missing from the student meeting. Shared accountability for outcomes would look like is a school setting with teacher during a meeting.
