Learn Assessment: Technology Integration Assignment
Parkay (2014) states in order for leaders to implement a curriculum that is effective they need to stay current with today’s students and technology in society. A few generations back students would come to school with notebooks, binders, and pencils; today students have smartphones, ipods, laptops, and tablets (PArkay,2014). Due to the past pandemic, technology has taken off in the education field. Within schools the teachers who haven’t accepted technology implementation in their curriculum have had trouble keeping up with society, this could harm our students. Technology is seen in everyone’s daily lives outside of school. This is causing a big influx of technology in schools, and because of this influx, teachers need to have professional development training on technology and stay current. The international society for Technology in Education has created professional development standards for teachers to integrate technology
into their everyday lessons. This technology’s professional development standards are as follows: facilitate and inspire student learning and creativity, design and develop the digital age, model digital -age world, promote and model digital citizenship and responsibility, and engage professional growth and leadership. In addition to these standards, they have chosen goals for learning, assessments, teaching, structure, and productivity. School administrators can integrate any technology by doing tests and assessments online, the teacher’s assignments need to have a variety of ways to offer lessons. Parkay (2014) stated that districts across the country are developing a way to use technology and face-to-face learning. Technology will create a deeper and higher level of thinking because technology is our future.
