Assignment 8 1 Assignment 8 Alexus McCurley-Shimer American Military University ISSC452: Cybersecurity Professor Booth December 26, 2023
Assignment 8 2 Week six was a very interesting week about biometrics and has to be a favorite topic . The reason being is the fact that we all use biometrics whether we fully realize it or not . Biometrics is something that will evolve over time and will continue to be used . Though there are many pros and cons to biometrics itself . Pros such as the ease of use and the convenience . As well as the accuracy and security are increased with biometrics . A con is the fact that there is an issue with privacy as well as some attackers are able to attempt to replicate the biometric data and use it . There are many different types of biometric identifiers . 1. Physiological measurements can either be morphological or biological . These consist of fingerprints, hand shape, finger vein patterns, the eye which are iris and retina, and the face shape . On the biological analyses, such as DNA, blood, saliva, or urine can be used by medical teams and police forensics . 2. Behavioral measurements which are voice recognition, signature dynamics, keystroke dynamics, the way that we use objects, the sounds of steps, and gestures . This is the reason why biometrics seems very interesting to me . As time goes on biometric data will continue to improve .
