2 Addressing Climate Change: Individual and Global Solutions Options to Reduce Individual Carbon Footprint My carbon footprint amount is 20.81 tons of CO2 annually an amount which would take 297 trees to offset.(1) In order to reduce this footprint, I am considering the following two tips: Take the bus. and Change my thermostat. . By taking the bus 0.7 metric tons would be saved annually.(Conservation International, 1) By reducing city traffic, taking the bus to work will help cut greenhouse gas emissions. (Conservation International, 1) The trip distance and weather are potential obstacles that could be faced while implementing using the bus. Changing the thermostat would save 0.06 metric tons annually.(Conservation International, 1) During the winter months, I will be able to save more energy my home would lose less energy compared to it being higher.(Conservation International, 1) Barriers that could face while implementing this option stop family members from changing the thermostat. I think that taking public transportation could be one of the best options for me to reduce my carbon footprint. The option is cheaper and it ride-sharing which helps to reduce pollution. Policies to Reduce the Effects of Climate Change Policy Set 1 Preventing greenhouse gas emissions and reducing emissions can help climate change. Organizing goals and policies can help global warming. It can reduce the risk and help achieve the target.(En-ROADS, 2) Climate change and carbon emissions from the growth of the population could be a drawback. Growth of the economy from population growth could also create setbacks that would limit the need for fossil fuels.(En-ROADS, 2) The advantages include the fact that it is attainable if everyone cooperates. Goals can be accomplished by using fewer fossil fuels and lowering carbon emissions.(En-ROADS, 2) Policy Set 2 The benefits are that we have a better climate. The ecosystem would not be damaged maintaining the quality of life for people to survive.(En-ROADS, 2) The impact that sea levels might rise. Extreme weather could be another drawback that could result in damage.(En-ROADS, 2) The advantages include the fact that it is feasible if everyone cooperates. Goals can be accomplished by using fewer fossil fuels and lowering carbon emissions.(En-ROADS, 2) Policy Set 3
